Position Overview & Responsibilities for the Network Analyst:
- Deliver AV technical support across multiple county facilities, focusing on Cisco Webex, Zoom, and Google meeting applications.
- Design, configure, test, and maintain various hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot complex network connectivity issues within a 24/7/365 Data Center environment.

Primary job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Working in and around fiber and radio huts, generation plants, substations, data centers, crew quarters and right of ways.
- Creating plans for splicing and testing OPGW and ADSS fiber optic cables.
- Performing support duties in fiber cable maintenance, relocation and emergency restoration.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Server Administrator, the Network Analyst is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, configuration, and supporting the County's computer network, switches, routers, network devices, security services, Wi-Fi platforms, PCs, and other peripheral equipment as needed. The Network Analyst is a customer service position that responds to the County's personnel and user agency departments. The Network Analyst also serves as a liaison with vendor technical services personnel to resolve equipment, access, and configuration issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following essential job functions are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. The Network Analyst may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
- Provide network services such as installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting routers, switches, PCs, servers, and WAPs. Ensure proper operation of the network equipment and network policies.
- Provide network security services such as configuring firewalls, VPN tunnels, and anti-virus software.
- Maintains network security to help prevent infection by externally or internally originated viruses and unauthorized system entry to safeguard information and systems.
- Provide Windows PC services such as installation, IP assignment, configuration, imaging, troubleshooting, debugging, software installation, and user support services as required.
- Maintain and operate network monitoring tools to ensure critical systems are online and healthy. Must respond to SMS/Email notifications as required.
- Manage, maintain, and assign IP addressing (IPAM) in accordance with network schema, policies, and industry best practices.
- Conduct network backup, restore, and recovery routines including disaster recovery planning.
- Provide peripheral software and hardware support as required to include printers, plotters, and other miscellaneous network and standalone devices.
- Provide internal and external customer support where necessary; including County personnel and external customers.
- Participate in various projects and project work. Project work may include identifying, recommending, design, and specifying equipment. Project timelines and deliverables will require adherence to the extent the analyst has responsibilities.
- Responds to calls for assistance and outages; performs computer trouble-shooting to diagnose operating problems; analyzes personal computer and peripherals' functionality; identifies, locates, resolves and repairs problems within scope of authority; documents call records and results. Serves as a liaison regarding network connections.
- Use of maintenance ticketing and tracking system to track and close issues submitted by users. Maintains accurate reports of malfunctions; provides referrals to the Server Administrator when problems are beyond the abilities of the analyst.
- Provide analysis on network performance and make recommendations based on certain performance analytics.
- Must be able to perform physical installation tasks such as mounting equipment, installing cable, connectors, and be able to use hand tools, specialized industry tools, and small power tools.
- Communicates technical subject matter with non-technical users and therefore must communicate clearly in understandable terms. It's critical that these verbal communications are respectful, helpful, and encourage clear user understanding.
- Communicates complex material through email, reports, and other written platforms. These communications must be clear, concise, and unambiguous.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field are preferred.
- 2-3 years field experience required.
- Cisco training and certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, etc. are preferred.
- A+ and Network+ experience preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting technical problems and finding solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with co-workers, partner agency members, and non-technical personnel.
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record.

- Stage, rack, and stack Extreme Networks gear for deployment
- Trace and label network cabling accurately to support seamless migration from Cisco infrastructure

The Network Management operation focuses on the operation of the IP networks that provide data transport for the DoDIN-A and local area network (LAN) internal support. The GCC controls and maintains operational responsibilities within the boundary between installation LAN and Wide Area Networks (WAN). Provides network support services to include Enterprise network operation, DNS, web filtering and proxy servers, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Installation Processing Node (IPN), Theater IP management, network management, monitoring, access control, and firewalls. All network-supported device implementation is either virtual, software defined, or physical based on system owner deployment.
* Network Services. The GCC defends the DoDIN-A by secure operation of the Enterprise network infrastructure. Performs the following support functions to remotely operate, monitor, sustain, and secure the Enterprise network within GCC responsibility boundaries:
* Respond to network changes, network failures, or modified network diagrams by utilizing a variety of network-related technologies: Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), VPN, device redundancy protocols, other exterior or interior gateway protocols, and Quality of Service (QoS) within an IP (hereafter taken to include versions 4 and/or 6) network that utilize various methods of encryption and transport security.
* Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure routers, switches, fabric interconnects, firewalls, Out-Of-Band (OOB) management routers, VPN, and access control servers.
* Implement, maintain, and document Access Control Lists (ACL) in the GCC AOR. Modify all GCC managed network devices on the ACL with no disruption in service. Create, add, delete, audit, and update Deny All/Permit by Exception (DAPE) security policies.
* Maintain accurate and complete Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) along with Application Layer Filtering records for GCC-managed sites as required. Review submitted RFCs and other change configurations for accuracy, feasibility, and implementation concerns within the Enterprise network architecture.
* Create, maintain, and sustain accurate and standardized network site diagrams that include all GCC-managed devices, active network interfaces, IP addresses, subnet masks, attached circuits with purchased bandwidth rates, Command Communications Service Designators (CCSDs), and routing information.
Basic Qualifications:
