Senior /Principal Network Architect (L4–Principal) – Cisco SD Access & Enterprise Networking Los Angeles, CA (Westwood area)

Duration: 6-12 months

**Frequent travel to the client offices in Westwood, CA and to sporting venues around LA/downtown will be required.

Summary: We are hiring senior -level network architects (L4 through Principal) to lead design and delivery of multi site Cisco Software Defined Access (SD Access) solutions at scale. You will set architecture direction, drive complex deployments across distributed campuses, and mentor engineers while partnering closely with security and operations. The ideal candidate holds an active CCIE and demonstrates deep, hands on expertise across Cisco routing/switching, Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly Cisco DNA Center), Cisco ISE, Cisco FTD firewalls, and Cisco SD WAN, with expert level command of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and related enterprise routing protocols.

What you’ll do (Key Responsibilities)

• Own end to end SD Access architecture for large, multi site enterprises: fabric design (control/edge/border), transit options, segmentation (SGTs/TrustSec), identity policy, and integration with WAN and data center.

• Lead Catalyst Center–driven automation: design templates, SDA workflows, network assurance, SWIM, and closed loop operations aligned to reliability/SLOs.

• Design identity centric security with ISE: policy sets, authorization profiles, posture, PxGrid integrations, wired/wireless 802.1X/MAB, guest/BYOD, and scalable group policies.

• Engineer secure edge and campus perimeters: Cisco FTD/Firepower policy design, NAT, VPN, IDS/IPS, SSL decryption strategy, and high availability.

• Architect SD WAN underlay/overlay: transport independence, application aware routing, DIA/Cloud on ramp, security integration, and multi region scale.

• Expert routing at scale: BGP (policy, route reflectors, communities), OSPF, EIGRP, ECMP, redistribution strategies, route filtering, summarization, and IPv6 planning.

• Drive modernization roadmaps: brownfield to SDA migration, hierarchical campus design, QoS, multicast, wireless controller (Catalyst 9800) alignment, and resiliency patterns.

• Deliver hands on build and escalation leadership: lab validation, pilot, phased rollout, cutover plans, MOPs, change windows, and root cause analysis for P1/P2 incidents.

• Mentor and uplift engineering teams: design reviews, standards, runbooks, and enablement sessions for operations and field engineers.

• Stakeholder leadership: collaborate with security, EUC, cloud, and application teams; translate business outcomes into technical architectures and measurable milestones.

• Documentation & governance: HLD/LLD, as builts, standards, security exceptions, and compliance artifacts; contribute to reference architectures and reusable templates.

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

• Active CCIE (any track; Enterprise Infrastructure and/or Security strongly preferred).

• 10+ years enterprise networking experience, including 3–5+ years leading SD Access architecture and deployment across multiple sites.

• Proven, exceptional hands on skills with Cisco routing/switching and Catalyst Center (formerly Cisco DNA Center) for SDA automation and assurance.

• Deep expertise with Cisco ISE (policy, 802.1X, SGT/TrustSec) and Cisco FTD (Firepower) firewalls (threat, access control, NAT/VPN, high availability).

• Strong experience with Cisco SD WAN (design, policy/templating, security integration, operationalization).

• Expert level knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, redistribution, and route policy design for large enterprises.

Preferred Qualifications

RRD's current salary range for this role is $105,900 to $169,500 / year. • Produce high‑quality diagrams and documentation in Microsoft Visio, ensuring clarity for stakeholders and maintainers alike.

• Define standards, reference architectures, and configuration templates using Ansible, RESTful APIs, and infrastructure‑as‑code principles.

• Lead end‑to‑end deployments: planning, staging, migration, and cutover for multi‑site environments.

• Oversee advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for Priority‑1 incidents, coordinating cross‑functional war rooms when required.

• Drive continuous monitoring and capacity management with PRTG and ThousandEyes, translating insights into proactive improvements.

• Align solutions with NIST, ISO 27001, and zero‑trust frameworks; embed segmentation, posture assessment, and logging.

• Define and enforce network policies, SOPs, and change‑management processes to satisfy both internal and auditor requirements.

• Act as technical mentor for 3–4 network engineers—conducting design reviews, configuration walkthroughs, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.

• Contribute to presales by scoping efforts, producing Bill‑of‑Materials, and presenting architectures to executive stakeholders.

• Evaluate emerging technologies (5G, private LTE, and AI‑driven operations) and champion viable solutions within Cirrus9.

• Represent Cirrus9 at industry events, webinars, or user groups as a subject‑matter expert in modern enterprise networking.

JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is looking for a Network Architect to join the Network Services/Design team with the focus on designing and implementing core network solutions. This role provides the opportunity to work with a wide range of network technologies within routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and wireless. The role also involves evaluating and advising on the latest technology trends related to IoT, cloud, and network automation. This Network Architect will play a key role in developing/deploying solutions that improve ONEOK's network security as well as address changing needs within the business. The skills that are required to have success in this role include strong collaboration and communication skills, as well as a deep technical understanding of the network technologies used by ONEOK.

Work from home an option, but candidate must live in the Tulsa, OK area. Travel into and around office and datacenter facilities may be required.

Work You'll Do / Responsibilities:

• Gather requirements from business units, Information Security, and IT/OT infrastructure groups

• Lead efforts to evaluate new technologies and select new technology vendors

• Develop new network designs/architectures with input from technical peers

• Deploy/implement network solutions for LAN/WAN, firewall, load balancing, and wireless technologies

• Create design documentation such as as-built diagrams and descriptions of network standards/processes

• Assist with creating documentation for purposes of budgeting and presentations to IT leadership

• Act as highest escalation point for troubleshooting issues within the ONEOK network infrastructure

Qualifications Required

• 8+ years in networking, with at least three of those leading network design projects

• Cisco professional or expert level certifications, or IT related bachelor's degree a plus

• Ability to work well on cross-functional teams and reliably complete assigned action items

• Ability to effectively communicate/coordinate w/ key stakeholders when implementing network changes

• Ability to effectively communicate with leadership on ongoing projects and advise on strategic decisions

• Experience working on DMZ environments and solid technical knowledge of load balancers and firewalls

• Experience creating and deploying enterprise-wide network routing designs

• Experience designing and deploying enterprise solutions for Wi-Fi

• Experience w/ datacenter architectures involving VXLAN leaf/spine as well as traditional layer2 leaf/spine

• Understanding of network programming technologies (Python, REST, GitHub, JSON, etc.) a plus

The Network Technologies Business Unit currently has an opening for a Network Architect to support a Department of State (DoS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) program. This position is for leading the re-architecture of a large and complex network infrastructure. It requires hands-on expertise, leadership of engineers, and engagement with senior customer leadership.

This program provides transparent, interconnected systems and security supporting the DoS in successfully carrying out its U.S. foreign policy mission. DT provides enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support services for desktops, servers, networks, firewalls, and enterprise applications across the Department. Program is named "Vanguard 2025" and is an IT consolidation consisting of the Department's servers, mainframes, network devices, network perimeter, anti-virus engineering, public key infrastructure (PKI)/biometrics/encryption, monitoring tools, telephony, mobile computing platform, virtual environment, and enclave design/security engineering.

Work is performed at the customer's location in Springfield, VA. Position does allow for some remote work after training.

Description of Duties:

• Re-architect customer facing secure network solution for a large, complex enterprise.

• Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, and performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes, sets standards and maintains a range of network and voice components and systems.

• Performs these functions across some, but not all, physical media, Operating Systems, File Systems, protocol stacks & network components.

• Provides client consulting and training on the design and use of the network systems and architectures.

• Plans, researches, evaluates and recommends new storage area network equipment and related technologies.

• Uses monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems; gauge performance and activity.

• Architects solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.

• May develop and execute contingency plans for network related hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

• Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, management, and departmental clients.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a network engineering/computer engineering related discipline; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.

• 14 years IT network engineering and architecture experience (Tier III and above, network infrastructure design and implementation).with large, complex networks.

• CCNA. Additional related certifications on the architect level are highly preferred.

• Strong/Deep knowledge of Layer2/Layer3, routing and switching, tunneling, and networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, static, L2TP, IPSEC, VPN, DMVPN, GRE Spanning tree, etherchannel, vlan trunking, 802.1q, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, VPC,.

• Deep knowledge of Cisco switching and routing product lines.

• Strong experience in design/support/troubleshoot large/complex networks end-to-end.

• Expert experience in one or more of the following: Unclassified Voice Systems, Secure Voice Systems to include red switch, TDM Switching, Voice Over IP (VOIP).

• Experience with DWDM optical core design

• Experience supporting the government customers in secure environments, familiarity of NIPRNET and SIPRNET operating standards and applicable guidelines.

• Firsthand experience in developing and providing quality assurance review of engineering change orders relating to the replacement or enhancement of perimeter security hardware and software.

• Experienced with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation.

• Expert Knowledge of cabling standards, fiber optic and copper cable termination.

• Management of personnel supporting large government customers.

Required Clearance:
