Management of Azure / AWS cloud networks and firewalls. Assist with planning, implementing, upgrading, or monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks, systems, and information. Responsible for working with vendors and resolving network outages in a timely fashion in order to meet internal SLAs and / or Metrics. Provide operational support to include problem-determination, resolution, root cause analysis, and future mitigation Creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures, network documentation and diagrams using Visio / Lucid chart. Requirements MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate must have minimally achieved the following level of experience : 8+ years of experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and L2 / L3 switches (Nexus 9k / 7k / 5, ASR, Catalyst, ACI, etc.) 8+ years of experience routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc. 5+ years of experience in network security (Cisco ASA & Firepower) 5+ years of experience with F5 load balancing (LTM, GTM, BIG-IQ) 5+ years of packet analysis to resolve complex technical issues. This is an opening for a Network Operations Engineer to support a Department of State (DoS) Network Operation Division. This program provides transparent, interconnected systems and security supporting the DoS in successfully carrying out its U.S. foreign policy mission. The Network Operations Division provides enterprise operations and maintenance support primarily to the DoS's international networks. SAIC's program is named "Vanguard 2025" and is an IT consolidation consisting of the Department's domestic and foreign network switch, routers and WAN devices.
Shift is 3:00pm-11:30pm, Sunday - Thursday. Role will start with at least 90 days onsite, but will eventually allow 2 days of telework.
Description of Duties:

Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, and performs problem isolation and resolution, and monitors, tunes, sets standards and maintains a range of network components and systems within the LAN/WAN environments at DoS posts and offices.

Performs these functions across using COTS and GOTS tools to test/validate: physical media, Operating Systems, TCP protocol stacks, routing protocols, routed protocols and network hardware components primarily on Cisco devices.

Provides client consulting, and training on the best practices and use of the DoS networks, tools, and architectures.
