This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.
As part of a passionate and accomplished team of Network Engineering and Security experts, you will protect and secure the infrastructure supporting various corporate and spaceflight systems. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain firewalls network access controls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Support network access control technologies and policies.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to network security incidents and events using SIEM and related tools.
- Analyze network traffic and logs to identify and mitigate suspicious activity.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and participate in network risk assessments and security audits.
- Support secure design and integration of new applications and systems.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
- Participate in incident response activities and security investigations.
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation.
- Provide guidance on security standards and policies to engineering and IT teams.
- Work with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with Blue Origin's security requirements.
- BS degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in network security engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency with Palo Alto Networks firewall technologies (configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring).
- Experience with VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC, and other critical network security tools.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, routing, switching, and OSI model networking concepts.
- Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, etc.) and log analytics.
- Experience with NIST800 standards including 30, 53, 82, and 171
- Experience with ISO27000 series standard and CMMC.
- Experience with tooling and automation technologies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization up to the Executive Staff and external customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, growing, and dynamic environment

As a Senior Consultant, you will work with our diverse teams of passionate professionals to help solve for some of today's toughest cybersecurity challenges to enable or clients to achieve business growth and manage risk.
The Team
Our Enterprise Security offering embeds security in all aspects of digital transformation by securing a client's technical backbone while enabling secure digital transformation. Includes security architecture, secure development and deployment, end-to-end cyber cloud capabilities, application security, and security for emerging technologies and connected products.
Required Qualifications
+ BA/BS degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Cyber Security)
+ 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in cloud security domains, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility, technical depth, and leadership over time
+ 3-4 years of experience with CNAAP solutions (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Wiz, Snyk, SentinelOne, or similar cloud security platforms)
+ 3-4 years of experience with container security and workload protection (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
+ 3-4 years of experience with one or more cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their native security tools
+ 3-4 years of experience working with cloud security guardrails for major CSPs (AWS, GCP, Azure)
+ 3-4 years of experience in the design and architecture of enterprise-level technical stacks, including VPNs, CDN solutions, Load Balancers, and Subnetting
+ 4-6 years of experience in large, complex, or enterprise environments using CSP platforms and security toolsets
+ 3-4 years of experience with governance, risk, or compliance initiatives involving common frameworks
+ Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

**Position Responsibilities:**

+ 5+ years of experience improving network availability towards 99.999% availability
+ 5+ years of experience managing direct reports
