This person must have expertise in network security to manage firewall operations, maintain compliance, and address vulnerabilities, in an on-premises and cloud platforms. The role involves network operations and engineering projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with Information Security teams. This role will focus on managing and securing the organization's firewall infrastructure to ensure robust network operations. The individual will implement, monitor, and support a fleet of corporate firewalls, regularly updating policies to accommodate requests such as port changes and security adjustments. They'll proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities, keeping systems patched and secure. Responding to compliance and audit inquiries is a key part of the role, alongside designing and deploying scalable firewall solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments. The individual will also troubleshoot complex incidents-including connectivity issues and denial-of-service attacks-ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption. This person will be physically working in the data centers 1-2 days a week, installing new firewalls and/or capabilities. They will coordinate the data center for switch install and/or implement capabilities. They will receive equipment, install and configurate systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, VPNs, and endpoint security.
- Develop and implement comprehensive network security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Monitor network traffic for security breaches and malicious activity, responding promptly to incidents.
- Architect and maintain secure network configurations across cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises environments.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure automation.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of new security technologies and solutions.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers.
- Develop and maintain network security documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and incident response plans.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices, and advise the organization accordingly.
- Manage security aspects of network infrastructure projects, ensuring security requirements are met.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in network security engineering, with a strong emphasis on enterprise network architecture and security design.
- Proven expertise in configuring and managing enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet) and security appliances.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network segmentation.
- Experience with SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for log analysis and incident detection.
- Proficiency in cloud security principles and implementation across major cloud platforms.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security automation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or CCIE Security are highly desirable.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
