An employer is looking for a Network Security Engineer in the Greater Seattle Washington area. This person must have expertise in network security to manage firewall operations, maintain compliance, and address vulnerabilities, in an on-premises and cloud platforms. The role involves network operations and engineering projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with Information Security teams. This role will focus on managing and securing the organization's firewall infrastructure to ensure robust network operations. The individual will implement, monitor, and support a fleet of corporate firewalls, regularly updating policies to accommodate requests such as port changes and security adjustments. They'll proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities, keeping systems patched and secure. Responding to compliance and audit inquiries is a key part of the role, alongside designing and deploying scalable firewall solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments. The individual will also troubleshoot complex incidents-including connectivity issues and denial-of-service attacks-ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption. This person will be physically working in the data centers 1-2 days a week, installing new firewalls and/or capabilities. They will coordinate the data center for switch install and/or implement capabilities. They will receive equipment, install and configurate systems.
