**Job Summary**
We are looking for an experienced **Network Systems Administrator** to support the Battelle **Columbus, OH** facility. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable operations, stability, and integrity of classified information systems and networks to ensure they are following client and federal regulations.
**Candidate must have an active Top Secret Clearance.**
**Responsibilities**
+ Design, build, configure, implement, and maintain IT network systems equipment and technologies.
+ Establish and administer appropriate security systems, policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with applicable government and corporate directives, guidelines, and contractual obligations.
+ Provide systems administration and information assurance support for various classified systems, including local regional office support.
+ Possess a strong understanding of an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) role and associated responsibilities, including system patching, configuration and validation of information system compliance using DISA STIGs, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) and STIG Viewer.
+ Initiate and follow through to completion, Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for enterprise architectures in accordance with NISPOM/DAAPM, ICD 503/CNSSI 1253, JSIG, NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 requirements.
+ Create and maintain Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages, System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports (RARs), Security Controls Traceability Matrices (SCTMs) and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) for all classified systems.
+ Conduct analysis and assessment of the security control assessment guidance, procedures, and templates to ensure correct and uniform implementation of the new RMF assessment processes.
+ Identify, contain, investigate, and report data spills to the Government Security ISSM through preliminary written reports. Coordinate containment and device sanitization with staff at the affected locations. Work with the FSO/ISSO for assessment/mitigation strategy addressing the data spill in the approved response plan.
+ Provide technical oversight for classified system compliance and conduct self-assessments.
+ Interface directly with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other system sponsoring clients to conduct security inspections, tests, and system review.
**Key Qualifications**
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ TS/SCI Clearance eligible
+ Bachelor's degree and/or 5 years of relevant experience as an IT systems administrator.
+ Possess strong demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft operating systems installation and configuration required. Experience with Linux systems considered a plus.
+ Experience with network systems administration, Active Directory, and GPO management is required.
+ Experience with switch, router, and firewall configuration is required.
+ Knowledge of ESXi virtualization and VMware required.
+ DoDD .1-M) IAT Level 3 certification or ability to complete certification within the first 6 months of employment.
+ Ability to travel to local regional sites to provide support for on-premise networks/systems, and to attend meetings and training (less than 10 percent of time).
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Military veteran with relevant IT and computer security experience will be considered a plus.
+ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is considered a plus.
+ Knowledge of NIST 800-53 and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
+ Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), implementation SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) and STIG Viewer.

Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

The Role

Lumen is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join the Metro Engineering team to develop network configurations and devices to deliver products within ethernet and IP access networks. This role will report directly into the Director of Metro Engineering and provide expertise in network design and automation.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Interacts with Network Architecture (IP, and Security), Planning, Operations, Lab, Systems (automation, alarming) to implement equipment and designs necessary to evolve Metro Ethernet Network(s). 

  • Ability to research, write requirements to test hardware and software to ensure interoperability and validation of features, functions and behavior.  Expertise in the certification of equipment, MOPs/network configurations. 

  • Layer 2 Expertise of ethernet switching equipment and switching architectures used on Lumen's Metro Network(s). 

  • Expert level troubleshooting knowledge with multiple vendor routing and forwarding architectures to resolve possible production issues or design behavior issues.  Solid experience with QoS traffic classification, remarking and per class queuing. Create QoS configurations to meet Product specifications and to resolve production issues. 

  • Applies advanced engineering and network principles, theories, concepts and technologies to solve complex problems and issues  Coding/Scripting fluency in python, perl. 

  • Interacts and drives vendor requirements, resolution of bug fixes, code upgrades, and vendor development as necessary 

  • Resolves difficult production/interoperability problems by working with cross functional teams and applying advanced engineering and network principles, theories and concepts 

  • Self-motivated with problem solving capabilities, sense of urgency and accountability 

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience/educatio

  • Typically 7+ years related experience or 4+ years related experience with Masters degree

  • Deep understanding of network protocols (Ethernet, OSPF, BGP, Segment Routing)

  • Excellent documentation/technical writing skills require

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Some level of system administration experience with focus on scripting and tools such as Anisble/Puppet/Chef, Python, PowerShell etc.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • MS / M Tech / BS / B Tech degree in Engineering, related technical field preferred, or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of telecommunications, specifically with MEF structures and IP protocols
