**The Opportunity:**
Seeking an experienced Naval Architect to provide technical and management support for a U.S. Navy acquisition program in our Washington DC office.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and analyze new ships and ship system concepts.
- Manage the overall schedule, risk, and resource management for integrated product teams.
- Prepare budgets and schedules to support overall acquisition schedule for U.S. Navy ships.
- Provide technical and planning support to U.S. Navy program office to meet program milestones and mitigate risk.
- Work with program Technical Director to plan and direct work required to resolve technical issues.
**Qualifications Required:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering
- Ten or more years experience in U.S. Navy ship design and engineering.
- Five or more years experience supporting a U.S. Navy program office.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to work with project teams and stakeholders.
- Must be a US citizen and have ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Skills in Microsoft Office
- Good written and verbal (English) communication skills.

**DLBA Naval Architects** , a division of **Gibbs & Cox** , has an internship opening for **Fall/Spring ** .
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide designer, drafting, and naval architecture support in the development of steel, aluminum, and composite (a) recreational vessels, (b) commercial ship designs, and (c) U.S. Government programs from 20' to 250' feet in length.
**Primary Responsibilities**
To execute redlines of DLBA/Gibbs & Cox deliverables with guidance from Senior Designer teammates. Once a firm grasp of drafting principles has been established there will be a possibility to create new deliverables for various projects.
There will also be an opportunity to explore Naval Architecture including conventional aspects of marine vessel design (resistance and powering, stability evaluation, structural design, seakeeping predictions). Work may require a broad knowledge of precedents in naval architecture and an in-depth knowledge of principles and practices of related technologies.
**Basic Qualifications**
+ U.S. Citizenship is required.
+ Currently seeking a degree program for Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Ocean Engineering from an accredited college or university.
+ Ability to work as a team member
+ Excellent MS Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
+ Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD software, including AutoCAD and/or Rhino
+ Strong analytical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
**Preferred Qualifications**

your responsibilities include
- Driving Sales and Achieving Placement Targets: You'll be directly responsible for hitting your sales goals by successfully placing skilled trades professionals with our client companies.
- Owning the Full Placement Cycle: From identifying candidates to finalizing offers, you'll manage the entire process with a focus on efficient and successful placements.
- Building Client Trust and Delivering Results: You'll be accountable for understanding client needs and consistently delivering high-quality talent that meets their specific requirements.
- Proactively Developing a Strong Talent Pipeline: You'll take ownership of building and maintaining a network of skilled candidates to readily fill current and future client openings.
- Monitoring and Improving Performance: You'll track key metrics like time-to-fill and client satisfaction, taking initiative to identify areas for improvement and maximize your placement success.
your background
- At least 3 years of success in direct hire.
- You have had success in meeting personal gp targets through new client acquisition & repeat placements while negotiating placement fees.
- Your previous experience includes using activity targets to deliver & also steer results.
- You are a proven performer with a history of qualifying, managing and maintaining a database of clients & candidates.
