Department Overview
The mission of Global Strategic Insights is to connect human truth with business strategy to drive growth. The Manager, Innovation Insights, will be responsible for coordinating and managing the insight for identifying and validating Innovation opportunities utilising foundational tools (Menu Architecture, Customer Journeys Insights, Occasion segmentation), continuous sources as well as foresight. They will work closely with a range of stakeholders across Marketing, Digital and the newly formed Restaurant Experience team, incorporating Strategic Innovation & Planning, Category Management, Restaurant Design, Restaurant Development, Operations and Supply Chain to identify innovation opportunities that unlock step changes in Customer Experience (CX) and Employee Experience (EX) and support teams as they innovate and validate solutions.
Duties
This role will report directly into the Director of Innovation Insights & Foresight with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Human and Innovation Insights
Key Responsibilities:
+ Synthesize insight from foundational tools (e.g. Menu Architecture, Customer Journey Insights, Occasion segmentation), continuous sources (Market data, CSAT, Brand Equity Tracker) and when relevant execute fresh research, to identify and prioritize a pipeline of innovation opportunities - focused on the most valuable problems to solve to unlock step changes in Customer Experience and Employee Experience
+ Partner with the Foresight Manager to ensure that prioritized innovation efforts address key consumer shifts
+ Partner with stakeholders across the Global Restaurant Experience to develop and execute learning plans that support the development, testing and validation of solutions that address innovation opportunities - with a particular focus on CX, EX and the Beverages Category
+ Own the Global Digital and Value Tracker aimed at providing a consistent measurement of how consumers are engaging with priority platforms and features
+ Manage relationships with existing insight vendors, work to continuously improve efficiency and value of existing tools, act as an advocate for agile insights tools & methodologies and where relevant identify more effective and agile innovation research methodologies to employ
Qualifications
+ Degree in business, ideally with marketing/consumer research qualification
+ 5+ years of experience in consumer insights roles either client-side or agency-side, proficient with a range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and tools
+ Strong data and analytics toolkit
+ Expertise identifying and solving consumer-centric problems; proficiency in creating methods to address current and future customer needs through insights
+ Expertise working with customer data, including sourcing, analyzing, and shaping customer data to form actionable business strategies
+ Strong commercial acumen, experience in using commercial data and working with commercial teams to identify and size opportunities. Strong understanding of market insight data.
+ Ability to work in a complex decentralized organization and influence diverse functional partners towards decision and action.
+ Track record of turning insights into action within organizations
+ Comfortable with agile ways of working
+ Strong verbal & written communication skills - ability to communicate complex messages in a simple way and influence

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $98,140.00 - $125,130.00 per year

Calendar Insights & Product Development Support: (45%)

New product development consultant for Marketing and Food Innovation teams:

  • Drive ongoing innovation process for the KFC brand by developing and independently managing custom quantitative and/or qualitative research to identify new product innovation opportunities and set conceptual priorities for food development team.
  • Partner with food innovation team providing consumer guidance for quarterly creative kitchens with food vendors and KFC leadership team.
  • Be the subject matter expert on sensory testing. Design new product & core product improvement learning plans comprehensive of consumer preference and difference testing. Partnering with food innovation and calendar teams to ensure testing is executed.

Promotional insights leader for KFCC:

  • Execute the consumer research agenda to validate KFC's promotional calendar initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Provide consumer insights leadership in cross functional teams through development and execution of consumer learning plans for calendar initiatives to amplify top-line growth based on in-market risk.

  • Develop a comprehensive marketing measurement framework that aligns with business objectives and provides a clear understanding of marketing impact across different channels and campaigns.
  • Generate regular reports and present findings to marketing teams, marketing leadership & IAT – with ownership of IAT Measurement Meetings
  • Communicate insights, findings, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to drive data-driven decision-making and marketing optimization.
