Position Overview :

The Non-Invasive Cardiologist provides direct patient care in the clinic and hospital setting and examines and treats patients with cardiovascular disorders and diseases. They will consult with patients and their families to determine the appropriate course of treatment and recommend and order tests to help diagnose the condition and/or determine the extent of the illness. They will work with a healthcare management team to provide continuity of care and unmatched customer service to our cardiology patients. The Cardiologist will perform general cardiology duties as assigned in support of the Blaze cardiology group, including but not limited to: cardiology call coverage, responding to emergent cardiac cases (as appropriate), inpatient rounding, clinic services, outreach services, reading cardiac imaging, and other responsibilities consistent with training and medical staff privileging.

• Regularly seeing patients in outpatient non-invasive cardiology clinics at Robbinsdale, Maple Grove, and outreach sites. This will involve seeing new and follow-up patients.
• Participating in inpatient cardiology rounding service.
• Participating in the non-invasive cardiology call schedule.
• Reading rest/stress echoes and nuclear studies; performing TEEs and cardioversions.

Position Qualifications

• Board eligible or certified in Cardiology
• Current State of Minnesota Medical Doctor license
• Valid DEA Registration
• CT training desired, but not necessary

Department Overview: Our Minneapolis neonatal float team is an integral part of nursing services provided within our neonatal community - from the special care nursery up through our level III and level IV neonatal intensive care units. Team members are able to apply specific skills sets to these departments and provide additional resources as needs are identified. The team is a valuable resource for the entire neonatal hospital system. Our nursing care team consists of registered nurses, clinical support associates and unit operations coordinators. RNs hired into this area would support our Special Care Nursery, Infant Care Center, and Neonatal Intensive Care units. The neonatal float team offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day. We value teamwork, open communication, safety, and respect. CSAs: Clinical Support Associates hired into this position would support all areas in the hospital except the Operating Rooms on the Minneapolis campus. This approach offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day.

Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard. Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required. Strong organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position. Skills in basic computer operation.

Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in the care of patients with cystic fibrosis, respiratory conditions, non-critical trauma, neurological conditions (both medical and post-op surgical recovery) and urological conditions (both medical and post-op surgical recovery). Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from days to several weeks for a specialty diagnosis. Patients are cared for by strong inter-disciplinary teams that include child life, social work, integrative medicine, dietitians, case managers and other specialists. We rely on teamwork, with open and respectful communication, and promote an environment that encourages learning and professional growth.
