The Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions team is seeking a **Linux Systems Administrator** to join its dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems support team in Melbourne, FL.
Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options - the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Melbourne, FL campus.
Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
+ Perform as primary Linux Systems Administrator for a classified government contract.

The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction . The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Responsibilities for this internship position are:
Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
**DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:**

**Essential Functions:**
This position is for a SkillBridge role in Colorado Springs, CO (100% on site). The successful candidate will be expected to:
+ Provide mission operations support to Satellite programs including flight control.
+ Support system maintenance activities such as procedure updates, architecture upkeep, and formal program milestones.
+ Work with systems engineers to conduct anomaly review board investigations as necessary.
+ Conduct testing using simulators and resolve discrepancies.
+ Develop and test command procedures, telemetry pages, and other products derived from vendor provided documentation
+ Support operations readiness activities including configuration control board and other customer meetings
+ Support operations, including shift work which will include 12 hour and night shifts
+ Monitor vehicle state of health across all subsystems and perform short and long-term telemetry trending.
+ Track space vehicle configuration, to include both hardware, software, and configurable item parameters.
+ Make modifications to existing operations procedures to incorporate lessons learned from in-flight performance. Develop new procedures as required.
+ ·Provide status reporting through both the functional and program reporting branches.
+ Maintain standards associated with the established Integrated/Developmental Operations functional group processes.
+ Support internal and external customer meetings through proficient verbal and documented (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel) communications.
+ May require travel ~ 10% of the time for support of customer or backup mission operations center.
**_*This position will require shift work including swing or night shift, and/or 12-hr shifts_**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
+ 2 years of relevant experience
+ U.S. citizen
+ Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI required at time of application
+ SkillBridge eligible
+ Ability to work within a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success
+ Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including ability to make persuasive presentations to external customers at milestone review
+ Willingness and ability to support a 24/7 environment while working day/night 12hr shifts
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Prior experience conducting on-orbit mission operations and resolving satellite and ground system anomalies highly preferred
+ Experience writing technical documents for external customers
+ Leadership experience within a diverse team of engineers/operators
+ Ability to task and manage a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success.
+ Experience working on government systems and/or government process environment
+ Experience with at least one S/C Subsystem (ADCS, CDH, COMM, EPDS, Thermal, FSW).
+ Experience in ground system update and/or maintenance
+ Experience operating Tactical Space Systems bus product lines is strongly desired.
+ Experience using Tactical Space Systems ground software products is strongly desired.
Salary Range: $73,000.00 - $100,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. + Support operations readiness activities including configuration control board and other customer meetings
+ Support operations, including shift work which may include 12-hour and night shifts
+ Make modifications to existing operations procedures to incorporate lessons learned from in-flight performance and may develop new procedures as required
+ Support coordination and execution of system maintenance tasks and coordinate across multiple contractor organizations including customer and external system partners to diligently accomplish all tasks
+ Perform demonstrations and conduct briefings explaining how to utilize mission systems to accomplish task-based objectives
+ Perform quantitative risk analysis
+ Provide status reporting through both the functional and program reporting branches
+ Maintain standards associated with the established Integrated/Developmental Operations functional group processes
+ Support internal and external customer meetings through proficient verbal and documented (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel) communications
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related STEM discipline
+ Minimum of 2 years of related experience
+ Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI at time of application
+ U.S. citizen
+ Ability to work within a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success.
+ Knowledge and experience in satellite operations engineering disciplines to include attitude control, power management, thermal control, propulsion, command and data handling, flight and ground software, and anomaly determination and resolution
+ Previous experience with troubleshooting, anomaly resolution and performing analysis on operational systems
+ Experience writing technical documents for external customers
+ Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including ability to make persuasive presentations to external customers at milestone reviews
+ Be able to make decisions under high pressure environments and maintain composure in stressful situations
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Leadership experience within a diverse team of engineers/operators
+ Experience working on government systems and/or government process environment
+ Experience with at least one S/C Subsystem (ADCS, CDH, COMM, EPDS, Thermal, FSW)
