Under the supervision of the LPN, RN, or nurse leader, the Patient Care Tech (PCT) performs patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care activities to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient. Job Description:

SCHEDULE :
  • Part time, non benefited position
  • 18 hrs/week
  • Rotating schedule (5:30am-6:00pm or 5:30pm-6:00am)
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Performs delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and specific competencies for the patient population served.
  • Checks patients' vital signs, height, and weight, as needed, based on patient type.
  • Provides compassionate care and listens to patients' concerns and guides them by answering any questions or concerns.
  • Identifies and escalates changes in patient status or patient risks to prevent crisis.
  • Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports to care team.
  • Repositions, transfers, ambulates and transports patients.
  • Assists patients with basic needs (such as hygiene, eating, using the restroom, and dressing).
  • Obtains and reports patient intake and output.
  • Performs electrocardiograms (ECGs) as directed.
  • Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection.

  • Manage timeliness of care progression with physician and nursing staff to prevent avoidable delays and or days.
