**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced **Nuclear Energy Technology Leader** to provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and thought leadership in support of nuclear energy initiatives. The Nuclear Energy Technology Leader will play a critical role in advising on nuclear technologies, regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and innovation strategies across a range of nuclear energy projects. **Responsibilities**

**Key Qualifications**
+ Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
+ 10+ years of experience leading technology development and/or deployment in the nuclear energy industry, which could include experience in the private sector, government, national labs, or military.
+ Deep understanding of nuclear reactor technologies (e.g., PWR, BWR, SMRs, Gen IV), fuel cycles, and safety analysis.
+ Familiarity with NRC regulations, IAEA standards, and other relevant frameworks.
+ Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

**Job Summary**
The **Nuclear Deployment Business Leader** will lead multidisciplinary teams delivering advanced nuclear energy deployment services to commercial clients, the Department of Energy (DOE), and the Department of Defense (DOD). This individual will provide strategic direction and market insights to lead project development and execution, team development, and stakeholder engagement for projects involving small modular reactors (SMRs), microreactors, and other advanced reactor technologies.
This position requires a proven record of nuclear energy project leadership and execution and demonstrated experience in addressing regulatory, environmental, and nuclear safety concerns.
**Responsibilities**
+ Lead the development and execution of Battelle's nuclear energy deployment business strategy.
+ Manage and coordinate project development and support activities ranging from business planning and project management, financial analysis, and risk management; engineering, procurement, construction and operations; safety, security, and regulatory efforts; and stakeholder engagement.
+ Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, environmental and other technical professionals as well as legal, contracts, human resources, government affairs and other business operations and support functions to execute business strategy and nuclear energy deployment projects.
+ Provide expert analysis and recommendations on nuclear policy, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
+ Lead business development activities, including opportunity capture, technical proposals, and cross-sector partnerships.
+ Interface with DOE, NRC, national laboratories, commercial clients, and other key stakeholders.
+ Represent Battelle in working groups, regulatory meetings, and industry conferences.
**Key Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 15 years of experience in the nuclear energy industry, which could include experience in the private sector, government, national labs, or military.
+ At least 10 years of experience leading projects involving the application of nuclear power.
+ Demonstrated expertise in advanced reactor deployment, infrastructure design and engineering, NRC licensing, nuclear operations, or federal environmental compliance.
+ Deep understanding of nuclear reactor technologies (e.g., PWR, BWR, SMRs, Gen IV), fuel cycles, and safety analysis.
+ Working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., 10 CFR Part 50/52, NEPA, DOE Orders).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead client-facing engagements and technical teams.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Professional Engineer (PE), PMP certification, or equivalent credentials.
+ Experience with DOE cooperative agreements, national lab collaborations, or advanced reactor demonstration projects.
+ Familiarity with site characterization, geotechnical evaluation, or nuclear waste isolation programs.
+ Experience supporting military or remote power infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Duties
Seeking a highly qualified Nuclear Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to represent The Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy (DOE/NE) regarding the AC-100M Centrifuge Development and Licensing. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in nuclear energy technologies, specifically in the development, demonstration, and operations of the AC-100M centrifuge. The primary responsibilities of this role include providing independent technical reviews in various areas such as centrifuge design, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and Balance of Plant support systems and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent technical reviews in centrifuge design, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Provide expertise in Balance of Plant support systems and deployment.
- Collaborate with DOE to assess reports and presentations related to centrifuge development and licensing.
- Support DOE in the evaluation of enrichment capability deployment projects.
- Ensure compliance with program schedules, cost containment, and performance metrics.
- Assist in the hiring and retention of key personnel for project execution.

Core Support Functions:

- Perform independent evaluations (operational and compliance based), readiness reviews, assessments, walk-downs, and field inspections at the Centrus facilities in Piketon, OH.
- Support coordination of regulatory boundary activities with co-located DOE contractors, DOE site personnel, and with the NRC (when appropriate).
- Support coordination and interface with DOE entities, Lease activities, and other DOE contractors for liaison activities associated with Centrus and NRC regarding regulatory activities.
- Develop analyses, technical assessments, and white papers to support decisions by DOE/NE management at DOE Headquarters (HQ).
- Review and develop analysis of reports, assessments, and technical/programmatic descriptions/proposals and/or cost analysis documentation related to uranium enrichment technologies.
- Analyze DOE requirements involving Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) as they may relate to DOE lessees, contractors, and other federal agency activities such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission related to the ACP Facilities.
- Analyze security/facility access programs, maintenance of security access agreements including the performance of technical evaluations readiness reviews, assessments, walk-downs, and field inspections.
- Address general NE-HQ requests associated with Centrus facilities in Oak Ridge, TN, Bethesda, MD, and Piketon, OH.
- Provide SME, project management, engineering and technical assistance to NEHQ regarding the project planning, execution, and deployment of domestic uranium enrichment capability and capacity to meet commercial power reactor, research reactor and defense needs, including the HALEU Demonstration and Operations Program.
- Provide review and input on additional Special Technical Topics/Issues that might develop, the specifics of which will be defined and negotiated as topics/issues arise. This includes support for formal cost estimates.

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home .
+ Under the direction of the Mechanical Project Lead, this position will offer you the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing mechanical general arrangement, piping isometric, pipe support, and mechanical equipment layout drawings in a 3-D model
+ Utilize Hexagon's SmartPlant S3D modeling software and SPF database to generate mechanical design deliverables, BOMs, and commodity lists
+ Understand and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams developed using SPID and create physical design consistent with the engineering requirements
+ Act as the mechanical design team lead in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated mechanical design model
+ Resolve clashes and discrepancies in the 3D model and report status
+ Coordinate and provide guidance to other designers and project team members to ensure a complete and timely design
+ Independently plan and execute design of mechanical deliverables
+ Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
+ Experience with SmartPlant S3D modeling software including the following:
+ Understanding of the integration aspects of SPID, SPF and S3D
+ Clash detection resolution
+ Discrepancy checks between deliverables
+ Interface with SmartPlant Administrators in the development of mechanical deliverable templates and catalogs
+ Drawing Presentation Rules Set Up
+ Plant model data management
+ Minimum three years of detailed design experience in the development of mechanical plant design drawings; piping, pipe supports and equipment layout
+ Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models
+ Experience in the review of project deliverables and drawing requirements
+ Experience in the review of vendor drawings and interface points
+ Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the plant design process.
Valued but not required experience:
+ Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD
