Job Description
* Perform treatments and administer daily and PRN medications per medical orders.
* Maintain up-to-date health records.
* Assume responsibility for informing faculty and staff of those students with special health problems, as needed.
* Interpret the health status of a pupil to him/her, the parents, and school personnel without breaching confidentiality.
* Observe students on a regular basis to determine health needs.
* Authorize the exclusion and/or re-admission of a student with an infectious disease.
* Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.
* Serve as a health consultant and resource person for the classroom teacher conducting health-related classes when requested as well as teacher health classes.
* Advise on modification of the education program to meet health needs of the individual student through the Chapter 766 process.
* Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Administrator of Special Education and Student Support Services This is a temporary position with limited benefits. Pay Rate: $230.00 per day
