As a Lead Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the unit's delivery of evidence-based patient care in a cost-effective manner.
You will provide leadership and clinical management to members of the healthcare team, participating in the integration of the Nursing Philosophy along with the mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in accountability for ongoing delivery of patient care in designated areas of responsibility.
- Achieve application of the nursing process by Registered Nurses in the clinical setting (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Ensure documentation of patient care in the medical record.
- Address concerns and resolve problems using data from various sources to initiate continuous quality improvement within the department/unit.
- Maintain daily unit operations, including staffing, patient visits, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, retention, and evaluation of personnel.
- Ensure appropriate orientation, training, competence, continuing education, and professional growth and development of personnel.
- Practice as a colleague with medical staff, other members of the interdisciplinary team, and other disciplines to initiate and support collaborative and cooperative clinical management practices.
- Contribute to the development of self and staff through orientation and continuing education.
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
