**The selected candidate will** :
+ Take effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state **Occupational Safety and Health** standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.

**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Western Service Area (WSA) Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health (EOSH) Program and assist the District Safety and Environmental Compliance Managers (SECMs) for the Anchorage (ANC) District.
+ The candidate will support the customer's Asbestos, Lead, Environmental Compliance, OSH Compliance, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Safety Training, Drinking Water, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), and Pandemic programs.
+ The candidate will participate in EOSH investigations related to potential accidental releases, mishaps, and employee complaints, as requested by the Safety & Environmental Compliance Manager (SECM).

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office, and MS PowerPoint.
+ The position requires the candidate to travel approximately 25% - 50% in support of Anchorage (ANC) District.
+ Ability to obtain and/or maintain Public Trust Security clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).

+ Per client direction and in coordination with EGS headquarters, develops and conducts, new Supervisor Orientation Program on Accident Reporting, Accident Investigation, federal/state/local/company policies on Safety Records/Documentation, and Safety Inspections.
+ Audits and monitors all work areas for safety hazards and OSHA compliance.
+ Per client direction and in coordination with EGS headquarters, develops and implements project-level environmental policies in accordance with all existing and new State/EPA Laws and Regulations.
+ Conducts and administers contract activities related to the customer's permits and programs pertaining to federal/state/local regulations or permits.
+ Recommends the purchase of all safety equipment.
+ Assesses, develops and implements environmental health and safety programs currently in place to ensure continuity and improvement.

Qualifications:

Your contribution
As a member of the Safety team, the Occupational Safety and Health Specialist is responsible for managing and monitoring safety programs at Wakefern distribution centers. What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred

- 2-4 years of experience in safety related functions, preferably in retail or warehouse environments

Compensation and Benefits

The Occupational, Health, and Safety (OHS) Specialist works on the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) team and is responsible for helping to identify, control, and reduce potential OHS risks, and sustain OHS compliance and operational excellence on-site at the Pall New Port Richey facility.
This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Manage the site's industrial hygiene and ergonomics programs, including assessment scheduling, reporting, and development/implementation of countermeasures
+ Manage the site's general OHS/OSHA programs and plans, including medical surveillance, as needed
+ Manage proactive safety observation reporting, data analysis, implementation of countermeasures, and collaborate with production teams to reduce pSIFs and support a zero-harm community
+ Learn to use Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to reduce pSIF risk profiles, minimize waste, and sustain EHSS operational excellence
+ Respond to emergencies, conduct injury/near miss investigations, and perform root cause analysis to develop and implement corrective/preventative actions
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor of Science degree
+ 5+ years of OHS experience in lean operations or manufacturing, and the ability to be on-call after regular business hours, when needed
+ Working knowledge of OSHA general industry and construction regulations
+ Excellent project management, writing, and PC skills, including experience working with Microsoft 360 applications
+ Familiarity with ISO 45001; ASP, CSP, or OHST credential preferred
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environmental Requirements:
+ Frequent standing, sitting, bending, twisting, lifting, and/or walking for extended periods. Required lifting weight: 35 pounds, as needed.
+ Travel: 10%.
+ Must be able to work in environments where solvents, oils, and other chemicals are used, as required.
