**Job Description:**
**Essential Responsibilities:**
1. Receives routine and emergency calls for assistance, obtaining relevant information, evaluating need, deploying appropriate resources, making proper notification and then documenting actions taken, all accomplished in a manner that is courteous and professional.
2. Operates proficiently a variety of Public Safety equipment including mobile and interagency radio console, telephone, computer systems, alarm systems, CJIS terminal, photo ID/access card machine and printers.
3. Provides information and service to walk in customers including issuing keys and producing identification/access control credentials, as necessary.
4. Patrols facility and grounds or maintains fixed post coverage, inspecting for security, health and safety hazards, unauthorized persons and unsecured doors and windows, making notifications or taking corrective action as necessary.
5. Responds to calls for service, alarm and emergency code activation rendering first aid, traffic/pedestrian control and assistance to clinicians such as deescalating emotionally distressed persons who may pose a safety risk to themselves or others.
6. Monitors main entrance to greet, screen and assist patients and visitors in a courteous manner that is sensitive to their culture; provides directions, wheel chair, transportation services and parking validation.
7. Directs traffic, monitors parking compliance and provides direction to destinations, to facilitate patients, visitors and employees who are navigating their way through the Medical Center.
8. Utilizes computer systems to document work activity and to assist visitors in determining where patients are located.
9. Provides escort for patients, visitors and employees to parking areas and other campus facilities.
**Required Qualifications:**
1. High School diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
2. 1-3 years related work experience required.
3. Meet and maintain qualification standards set by State/Federal Govt, necessary for approval to access CJIS terminal points.
4. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
1. One year experience as a Security/Public Safety Officer or Dispatcher in a healthcare setting is preferred

AdventHealth Winter Garden is undergoing a major expanding that will add three additional floors to the hospital's patient tower and bring additional women's services to West Orange County. Our hospital tower expansion will be completed in 2026.
The AdventHealth Winter Garden tower expansion will add 40 new progressive care unit beds, obstetrics and gynecology (including labor and delivery). One floor will be dedicated to labor and delivery, and will include nine labor, delivery, and recovery beds, 10 postpartum beds, two C-section operating rooms, and future space for a level two Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The tower's expansion will also add space for more operating rooms, and a shell floor with capacity for 40 beds.

The Security Officer II performs security service duties through professional and positive interaction with the public, patients, employees and administrators. Responds to a variety of calls; provides assistance in emergency and non-emergency situations. - Provides a security presence within the ED for individuals, hospital personnel, County mental health personnel and the general public.
- Accepts individuals who are on a 5150 hold from law enforcement officers and works with law enforcement to ensure that the individual is settled into the facility and appears to be relatively stable prior to releasing the law enforcement officer to other duties.
- Assist to ensure the continued safety of patients, staff and visitors.
