**Job Summary**
Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals

+ Responsible for managing the development, planning and implementation of company industrial safety programs.
+ Oversees the development, planning and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention and building safety) within the company.
+ Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
+ Coordinates company Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Safety Committee. Provides protection for personnel and company property.
+ Conducts periodic on-site facility audits to check for compliance with OSHA guidelines.
+ Investigates root causes of accidents and prepares reports with the findings and corrective actions.
+ Prepares and facilitates the safety training program.
+ May administer a safety incentive program.
+ Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. ProSidian Seeks a Integrated Safety Management Systems Specialist in CONUS - Mid Atlantic Washington Metropolitan Area (Northern Virginia | Washington DC | Maryland) to support an engagement for a cabinet-level department of the US Govt. concerned with the US' policies regarding energy and safety in handling nuclear material. The Agency's Office of Enterprise Assessment (EA) provides leadership and Senior Managers with an independent assessment of the effectiveness of the Agency's policies and site performance in the areas of safeguards and security, cyber security, emergency management, environment, safety, health, and other critical functions as directed by the Secretary. As the Agency Program Management Improvement Officer (PMIO), the EA Office supports priorities for maintaining a safe, secure and effective nuclear deterrent and reducing the threat of nuclear proliferation, overseeing the US' energy supply, carrying out the environmental clean-up from the Cold War nuclear mission, and supporting the Agency's 17 National Laboratories.
The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to provide technical and administrative support a "check and balance" function by objectively: 1) observing and reporting on the performance of Federal and contractor organizations' implementation of security and safety policies and programs, 2) applying enforcement actions to contractor organizations for poor performance in adhering to legally enforceable security and safety requirements, and 3) developing and delivering security and safety training programs that reflect best practices and lessons learned from EA independent assessments to enhance workforce performance. This includes technical expertise to perform the effort for a full scope of oversight program and support activities for the enforcement and training programs in the areas of safeguards and security; cyber security; emergency management; and environment, safety, and health; as well as general and cross-cutting support.

QualificationsThe Integrated Safety Management Systems Specialist shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.
Education: For a position where a Bachelor's degree is required, a Master's degree can substitute for five years of relevant commercial or government experience. A degree must be from an accredited college or university. Applicant must possess at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, in such fields as an engineering discipline, industrial safety, business administration, or environmental management.
Experience: Applicant must have at least 10 years of relevant commercial or government experience, which includes at least 5 years of environment, safety, and health-related experience and at least 5 years of experience in conducting appraisals. Applicant must demonstrate a broad working knowledge of environment, safety, and health programs. Applicant must demonstrate expert knowledge in integrated safety management, including guiding principles, core functions, hazard analysis, safety and health plans, requirements management, feedback and improvement programs, and the interactions among various elements of a comprehensive environment, safety, and health program (e.g., interfaces among worker safety, industrial hygiene, conduct of operations, and occupational medicine programs).
The applicant must demonstrate the ability to evaluate the application of a wide range of environment, safety, and health and integrated safety management requirements, plans, systems, and procedures sufficient to evaluate compliance with regulations and standards and the overall effectiveness of a program. Applicant must have detailed knowledge of The Agency's missions, sites, facilities, operations, and organizational roles and responsibilities.

As the Safety Management System Program Manager, you will manage various safety programs and deliver critical practices and key performance indicators in accordance with federal requirements and industry standards to identify and mitigate systemic weaknesses.

The Director, Global Process Safety Management (PSM) is responsible for championing and leading a culture of Process Safety Excellence and drive the Cytiva Global Process Safety Management Strategy and Program.

+ Delivering a risk and performance-based Process Safety Management (PSM) system in compliance with OSHA PSM, SEVESO, UK-COMAH and Cytiva corporate requirements.
+ Leading and improving global Process Safety Management (PSM) performance through best practice sharing, hazard identification and control, management participation, ensure effective incident investigation and learning, and a knowledgeable and competent cadre of PSM leaders to ensure effective operational control.

EnSafe is actively seeking a talented and experienced Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer to join our team and work at one of our 22 EnSafe offices.
EnSafe is an employee-owned global environmental consulting and engineering firm. We strive to provide innovative, creative solutions for our clients. EnSafe specializes in custom solutions in Environmental Management and Planning, Civil Design Engineering, Environmental Restoration, Natural & Water Resources, Health & Safety, and Technology, with offices in the U.S.
What We Are Looking For:
A Process Safety Management Engineer who is comfortable working directly with our clients to address their health & safety concerns. Practical experience with OSHA’s PSM standard is mandatory.
We work in various industries, including aerospace, chemical processing, pulp & paper, manufacturing, oil & gas, automotive, etc. We will capitalize on your technical strengths to help lead our PSM service line, performing work related to the fourteen elements of PSM. You may also be involved with other traditional safety work such as machine safeguarding, control of hazardous energy, confined space assessments, and other activities.
Our safety professionals travel to multiple client sites primarily across the Southeastern US, but we provide services nationwide. You will grow into managing projects and expect to develop business with current and new clients.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring process safety management (PSM) programs in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Facilitating process hazard analysis (PHAs) using the hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and/or other methodologies. Experience with PHAPro is a plus.
- Conducting PSM compliance audits. In-depth knowledge of the fourteen elements of PSM is required.
- Compiling processes of safety information.
- Developing mechanical integrity programs.
- Creating standard operating procedures.
- Providing PSM training.
- Developing Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
- Performing EPA risk management plan (RMP) audits.
- Performing combustible dust hazard assessments.
- Providing technical support to customer operations and engineering teams.
- Leading incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Managing safety audits and inspections, preparing detailed reports, and communicating findings to site leadership.
What you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (PE certification is preferred but not required)
- 15-20 years of experience performing PSM-related work. Consulting experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in using process safety software and tools, PHA Pro software.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, industry standards, and best practices
- Critical thinking skills.
- Communication skills, written and verbal, are critical to success.
- Ability to travel overnight. Up to 50% travel may be required.
