**Job Description Summary:**
This key position holds system-wide leadership responsibilities and is accountable for the overall operations of the OhioHealth Physician Group (OPG), including all employed physicians. The scope of accountabilities includes the operation, optimization, and enhancement of employed physician practice activities at OhioHealth. The geographic scope and complexity of the practice cover over 50% of the state of Ohio, with rapid expansion through the addition of health systems and practices. Services are configured into system service lines that include complex relationships between hospitals, physicians, and geographic areas to support integrated operations in primary care, heart and vascular, neuroscience, oncology, surgery, women's and reproductive health, and acute care. The primary goal and focus for the physician group is to expand access to care across our footprint. The COO will need to work closely with many departments and functions to ensure integrated, successful performance.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**
- Develop, refine, manage, and maintain the operating support functions and leadership needed to effectively operate a large health system-owned provider practice
- Ensure the operation of practices according to business plans and budgets
- Design, develop, and implement practice operations standards, processes, procedures, and tools to drive a consistent patient experience and ensure quality care
- Successfully assimilate practices into the OPG operating model
- Actively participate in physician recruitment and growth to drive expansion and market share
- Demonstrate a passion for growing and investing in physicians to develop administrative capabilities and leadership
- Actively participate and lead the organization around physician compensation, benefits, motivation, and overall administration of policies and procedures
- Deliver against balanced scorecard metrics in the areas of quality, culture, patient experience, and financial results
- Align physicians around the common goals of the care sites and service lines to build consensus that drives growth and clinical innovation
- Provide excellence in communication concerning the practice with Hospital Presidents, Service Line Leaders, and other key leadership
- Partner with Service Line leaders to ensure alignment of objectives and consistent implementation of strategies and initiatives
- Actively work to ensure that referral patterns and integration strategies are effective and consistent with OhioHealth strategy
- Ensure appropriate specialty physician coverage across the footprint and make recommendations where gaps are identified

3. Assists manager in planning and contributing to fiscal management of unit by utilizing human and material resources and supplies in an efficient, cost-effective manner.  Assists Manager in development and implementation of services.

15% Professional Development and Leadership:
1. Practices as colleague with medical staff, other members of the interdisciplinary team, and other disciplines to initiate and support collaborative and cooperative clinical management practices.  Actively participates in interdepartmental relationship building.
2. Contributes to development of self and staff through orientation and continuing education.  Participates in identification of learning needs of staff.
3. Participates in collection, analysis and use of data for quality and process improvement activities at the unit level.
4. Provides leadership and clinical management through clinical practice, supervision, delegation, and teaching as delegated by Manager and/or Director.

Job Title: Patient Care Coordinator

At Better Hearing Centers, the Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience for patients seeking hearing healthcare. Acting as the first point of contact, this role ensures smooth coordination of appointments, accurate record management, and supportive communication between patients and hearing specialists. The coordinator helps patients navigate their journey to better hearing with compassion, efficiency, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and provide a welcoming, compassionate environment.

• Answer phone calls, emails, and online inquiries; schedule appointments promptly and accurately.

• Educate patients about clinic services, hearing aid options, and follow-up care.

• Serve as the liaison between patients and hearing care professionals to ensure continuity of care. Scheduling & Coordination

• Manage the daily schedule for audiologists and hearing instrument specialists.

• Confirm, reschedule, and follow up on appointments to maintain clinic flow and minimize no-shows.

• Coordinate new patient intakes, hearing tests, fittings, and follow-up visits. Administrative Support

• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health system (EHR).

• Process hearing aid orders, repairs, and warranty claims.

• Track inventory and coordinate with vendors for supplies or product returns.

• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including insurance or referral documentation. Insurance & Billing Assistance

• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain any necessary pre-authorizations.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinic financial policies. Team Collaboration

• Support audiologists and providers with patient preparation and documentation.

• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to workflow improvements.

• Maintain a positive, team-oriented atmosphere focused on patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
  •  Experience: 1–2 years in a medical office, audiology clinic, or hearing aid center strongly preferred.
  •  Skills: • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  •  Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  •  Comfortable working with elderly patients and those with hearing challenges
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

In this position you will:

  • Contribute to a high functioning team
  • Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
  • Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
  • Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices

  • Other duties as assigned

Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the bedside RN and charge nurse to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department in completion of the duties assigned to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient through the RN and Charge Nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 months Health care experience.
