**General Description:**
This position has ownership of demand planning activities for a group of strategic channels and is responsible for ensuring the demand planning process delivers a reliable forecast as a key input to the supply planning system. As a Demand Planner, they will focus on:
+ Working with the Business Units, Sales, Operations, Supply Planning and Finance teams in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to assure alignment in between the forecast and financial plans
+ Developing and monitoring process metrics to drive process conformance, problem solving and improvement
+ Identifying quantified risks within the demand plan, reviewing gaps with Customer and Trade teams and developing appropriate countermeasures for resolution
+ Managing directly and indirectly the input of SKU/DC/Customer requirements for replenishment, promotions, events, seasonal volumes and adds/deletes and validating plans directly with the customer
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Create and/or maintain forecasting models for each item at each stocking location and for every customer within designated product lines to achieve established forecast accuracy goals.
+ Executing the demand planning process, clarifying ambiguity, developing approaches to new conditions, addressing bias and delivering forecasts of unconstrained customer level demand.
+ Developing and monitoring process metrics to drive process conformance, problem solving and improvement
+ Leading the forecast collaboration process with Customer and Channel Trade teams to provide a baseline dollar forecast for lower-level forecast alignment.
+ Collaborates with, and challenges where appropriate, the account facing logistics team to drive alignment with sales dollar forecasts.
+ Reviewing system generated statistical forecast for account level sku/dc inconsistencies and making adjustments across the planning horizon by utilizing customer prior shipments, POS data, knowledge of business unit trends, and upcoming promotions to guide decision making.
+ Manage demand history to realign forecasts based on item version changes, customer entity changes, etc.
+ Update forecasts to assist in the conversion (run out) from one item to another.
+ Ensuring that all discrete forecasts are appropriately added to the system, including promotions, events, POG's, discontinued and new products, and version changes.
+ Prepare and present the demand plan and its assumptions, drivers and risks during the S&OP Demand Review meeting.
+ Communicating with plants, Supply Planning, Trade, Sales and Finance to ensure translation of the demand plan across and through the organization.
+ Problem solving the highest causes of error by researching error, determining root cause and driving for improvement.
+ Supporting growth and innovation as a thought leader on developing, monitoring and changing of the demand plan.

+ Contribute to the success of the overall business by representing supply chain interests in cross-functional project teams to implement changes to business processes
+ Operating as a strategic thought leader/change agent working collaboratively with the supply chain teams on priority initiatives that optimize service, inventory and cost for the total value chain

**REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)**
**Successful candidate will have:**
+ College degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management or related technical field.
+ Minimum 1 years' experience which includes:
+ Experience across multiple aspects of the supply chain with previous roles in forecasting, manufacturing planning and/or inventory management.
+ Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and demand systems (e.g., JDA, Logility, etc.)

**JOB OVERVIEW**
This role is focused on executing the responsibilities for Demand Planning process. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their product category incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Product Marketing, and other sources. **As the Demand Planner, you will have an opportunity to:**
+ **Demand forecasting** **-** Create the 12-month rolling sku/customer forecast utilizing historical data, current order book trends, and statistical models to facilitate the agreement of a consensus business plan

+ Convert the demand plan into a supply plan that drives replenishment through the MRP process and manage SKUs as they move through the product life cycle.
+ Create and deliver reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Tableau to communicate KPIs, trends, and insights to internal teams and senior leadership.
+ Leverage relational database knowledge to build and analyze both standard and ad hoc reports in a clear and concise manner.
+ Serve as a key S&OP team member, presenting BU-level forecasts in both internal and external meetings, including those with senior management and key customers.
+ Work with Purchasing, Production, and other Supply Chain functions to analyze gaps between demand plan, customer orders, and supply plan, including potential inventory shortages.
+ Drive forecast accuracy to support company goals related to fill rates, inventory optimization, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Our Company is in search of a Demand Planner Specialist that can work closely with the customers to effectively manage case ready meats delivery. This job involves logistics, procurement, inventory, and accounting functions. Using their exceptional organization and communication skills. This person will be responsible for gathering, validating, and interpretation of relevant data to maintain a valid and accurate demand schedule.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Manage direct contact with customers and customer requests.**
2. Responsible for sourcing, procuring, and purchasing raw materials.
3. Responsible for the commitment of inventory against sales orders.
4. Review Expiration Reports to ensure all raw materials are being consumed FIFO.
5. Ensure all Finished Product is being shipped using FIFO and that any excess product is being added to sales orders.
6. Receives orders from buying team and customers, checks for accuracy, commits to inventory, and promises delivery date based on availability of materials, customer needs and production schedules.
7. **Assist in managing inventory levels which are sufficient to customer demands while controlling costs.**
8. Help manage cost from suppliers to Procurement system to ensure proper billing to stores.
9. Manages proper inventory levels to support shelf-life expectations and control product freshness.
10. Responsible for creating Product Bid Sheets for raw materials based on Buyer's projections.
11. Manage demand exceptions related to out of compliance demand, forecast bias, and demand anomalies.
12. Maximize accuracy and efficiency of the demand schedule by capitalizing on production efficiencies, minimizing downtime from changeovers, and pushing/pulling production to mirror buyer's adjustments and current demand.
13. Support the Supply/Production planning through prioritizing inventory needs, new items forecasts, product phase out and special builds.
14. Establishes production plans and priorities based on customer requirements.
15. **Oversee logistics of customer/supplier demands.**
16. Oversee logistics from case ready facilities to division distribution centers to conclude when product is received.
17. Track performance of supply chain and logistics KPIs (inventory turns, fill rates, days of inventory outstanding, planned costs vs actual costs, etc.)
18. Maintain and update demand forecast dates.
19. Utilize ERP platform and other tools to conduct analysis for forecast and accuracy, tracking trends and shifts to make proactive decisions to mitigate any potential raw material buildup or finished goods shortages.
20. Work with cross functional teams to ensure that any activity affecting the facility's ability to produce or complete a production schedule is communicated to the production staff management team, supply chain manager, and the facilities manager.
21. Coordinates order changes in production scheduling, shipping, and receiving.
22. Resolves daily problems about material rejections and production changes due to equipment breakdowns.

Role & Responsibilities:

The role of the Demand Planner (DP) is to evaluate the past customer demand, determine past forecast and demand plan accuracy and generate an order forecast using predictive algorithms. The DP collects and organizes inputs from sales and marketing teams to generate consensus demand plan to meet the volume and financial growth targets of the organization. In the process, Demand Planner evaluates quality and validity of cross-functional and marketplace inputs in the forecasting process to ensure continuous improvement in the demand plan accuracy, cycle over cycle.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Demand Planner is responsible for the following activities:

  • Develop and manage 36-month forecast and demand plan at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons (operational and strategic).
  • Evaluate accuracy and bias of forecasts generated by demand planning tools and cross-functional forecasts provided by sales managers, marketing managers, customers, and other stakeholders to determine the forecast value add (FVA)
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to reconcile significant variances between system generated forecast and functional forecasts and refine the demand plan to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions or trends.
  • Support sales managers and marketing managers in initial financial target setting, documentation of demand assumptions, and the creation of scenarios to address the gaps between the demand plan and annual operating plan on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead Demand Review meetings of IBP to present analysis and options around exceptions.
  • Participate in Supply Review meetings to understand demand fulfillment risks, understand fulfillment options and provide guidance on demand probability.
  • Analyze and understand material variances to forecast performance and drive corrective action or adjustment efforts with Sales and Marketing teams to reduce forecast variances.
  • Release the consensus demand in accordance with process design, to support the tactical inventory and production planning for the short-term and communicate any material changes to demand plan.
  • Prepare and release the consensus demand plan monthly in alignment with S&OP calendar to support the inventory planning, rough cut capacity planning and decision-making under the IBP process.
  • Collaborating with the Sales and Marketing team to maintain a documented view of the volume Risks and Opportunity Pipelines to the demand plan and communicating to the Supply team to support scenario analysis on the ability to supply and an understanding of implications to the business.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analysis, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field of study.
  • 3 -5 years of Sales and Marketing, Business Analysis, or Supply Chain experience.
