Job Summary:

The Project Site Technician - Electrical will support our Hydrogen gas production facility. This person will be report to the Commissioning Lead and collaborate with a diverse group of Project-Site technicians, project managers, and onsite contractors to strategically install, assemble, and commission some of the country's most innovative hydrogen gas terminals.

This position presents a great amount of exposure to customer personnel and electric lift truck operators and thus requires a person with excellent technical skills as well as communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.



Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with OneH2 management through various channels, including phone, email, and in person.
  • Collaborate with Commissioning Leads and Project Site technicians to prepare for construction and commissioning, including plumbing and electrical tasks.
  • Assist in building trestles, pipe supports, hangers, and fixtures using basic hand tools alongside your fellow technicians and leads.
  • Help run cables, conduits, and fixtures under the guidance of Commissioning Leads.
  • Support contractors in executing their tasks with the use of basic hand tools and rental equipment like lifts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while managing company-provided tools.
  • Stay focused on completing assigned tasks by projected deadlines, proactively communicating solutions to overcome any potential delays.
  • Install, terminate, and test electrical wiring, cables and conduit systems for hydrogen gas equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams to execute installations accurately.
  • Perform continuity and insulation resistance testing using multimeters and megohm testers.
  • Assist in commissioning by energizing equipment under supervision and verifying operational readiness.
  • Install and maintain lighting systems, panels, breakers, and grounding systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults, replacing defective components promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and OneH2's internal electrical safety procedures.
  • Support integration of control systems, sensors, and monitoring devices with electrical circuits.
  • Label and document all electrical installations for future maintenance and inspections.
  • Coordinate with mechanical and instrumentation teams for electrical connections on pumps, compressors, and control panels.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before starting any electrical work.
  • Verify proper grounding and bonding before energizing circuits.
  • Maintain arc flash awareness and use appropriate PPE during electrical tasks.
  • Experience with three-phase power systems and industrial voltage levels (e.g., 120V, 480V).
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as clamp meters, voltage testers, and circuit tracers.
  • Basic knowledge of VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) installation and wiring.



Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in 120/480 VAC panel wiring, terminations and/or troubleshooting low voltage instrumentations.
  • Trade qualifications are a plus but not required.
  • Basic electrical repair skills, like repairing or rewiring a light switch or replacing a breaker.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area wiring methods (Class I, Division 2) for gas industry projects are a plus but not required.
  • Strong written communication skills to ensure clear and effective correspondence.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with formal training considered in lieu of direct experience.

As an Electrical Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining the electrical systems of military facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install transformers, junction boxes, circuit breakers, service panels, switches, electrical boxes, and lightning rods
  • Read blueprints, wire plans, and repair orders to determine layouts/repair
  • Test equipment for operational conduction of circuits
  • Inspect power distribution systems, shorts in wires, and faulty equipment
  • Repair and replace faulty wiring and lighting fixtures

The Army provides comprehensive training to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role. Job training for Electrical Installation Specialists requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training.
