Position Overview

The Clinical Oncology Support Specialist will optimize patient and provider experiences across all user touch points with Exact Science, both pre- and post- test completion. The Clinical Oncology Support Specialist will report to Regional Manager and partner with assigned sales team members to ensure customers (providers and patients) needs are met with regard to clinical workflow, specimen retrieval/shipment, and all test processes in order to improve patient outcomes.  Building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships are critical to support customer growth and retention. 

This position is field based / remote.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Proactively monitor patient testing and sample journeys to identify and address potential issues that could impact timely care.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on Exact Sciences Oncology products, processes, and tools for test order management, sample logistics, and billing inquiries.
  • Support with onboarding and ongoing education for clinical staff, with a focus on ESPH portal training, ordering workflows, and best practices to ensure successful test utilization.
  • Support with troubleshooting onboarding and issues that may arise for customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, billing, customer care, and logistics, to resolve issues and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient retention, order fulfillment, and service quality to inform strategic improvements.
  • Collect and share customer feedback to drive continuous improvement across products, services, and internal processes.
  • Monitor orders for completion, focused on any order greater than 4 days not SNR (specimen not received) or Order not completed. (TNS, etc)
  • Partner with revenue cycle team to resolve Prior Authorization and billing issues to get the order released to providers as quickly as possible
  • Cover provider in service meetings virtually, as needed.
  • Set up appointments for sales team members as needed.
  • Ability to cover all aspects of customer service and support, including staff onboarding, portal account setup and training, sample status/tracking, billing questions, kit shipments, etc.
  • Ability to resolve needs of internal and external customers in expeditious and responsive manner, ensuring strong communication throughout the process.
  • Ability to approach business strategically while executing on tactical needs
  • Ability to drive creative and compliant solutions while operating in ambiguous and complex situations.
  • Ability to analyze business trends, evaluate gaps and opportunities for growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree with minimum of 4 years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 2 years of experience
  • 1+ years of experience in sales, sales support or in a clinical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to approach business strategically while executing on tactical needs
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity and navigate complex matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business trends, evaluate gaps and opportunities for growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:

$74,000.00 - $122,000.00 The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.

**Responsibilities**
The Radiation oncology clinical intake coordinator (ROCIC) works collaboratively with the Department of Radiation Oncology staff to promote best practice amongst providers and the clinical intake of proton patients. Duties include: educational and monitoring activities for providers focusing on documentation integrity, support of the electronic medical record, support of the clinical intake database (CRM) and maintenance of metrics for reporting purposes to internal and external entities. The ROCIC will work with secretarial support and physicians to develop and maintain a phone triage system and clinical intake database (CRM) for the department to accept external and internal proton patient referrals. The ROCIC functions in the role of educator, facilitator, change agent, and researcher, using a collaborative practice framework to promote best practices in Radiation Oncology intake processes. This individual has the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's specific needs and eligibility for proton therapy.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited health care related program of study (e.g. RN, radiation therapist, social worker, etc.). Minimum 5 years' recent healthcare clinical/bedside (inpatient or outpatient) experience.
Oncology experience preferred. Possesses demonstrated interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Possesses verbal and written communication skills. Possesses organizational skills. **What you can expect from this role**
+ TheClinical Oncology Triage RNis responsible for prioritizing walk-in and telephone triage encounters to address presenting symptoms with focused assessments, management, patient teaching, and coordination of patient care needs, in consultation with providers, key team members, and outside health associates, i.e., insurance, pharmacies, etc. who are involved with the patient's plan of care
+ This position will cross-train in another area within the clinic for coverage purposes
+ Part-time: 0.8 FTE (64 hours per pay period)
+ 8-hour shift, variable days (M-F)

**Minimum qualifications for this role**

This faculty member in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy will practice as a member of the multidisciplinary teams at the Anschutz Outpatient Cancer Pavilion of the University of Colorado Cancer Center (UCCC). The UCCC is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus of the University of Colorado in Aurora, Colorado. The UCCC is affiliated with the UCHealth system and is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Colorado. This faculty member will have clinical responsibilities (30% time) primarily focused in either Neurologic, Breast, or Hematology clinics (specific practice site will be determined by the time applicant screening for this position begins). Faculty in this setting provide a variety of clinical services including provision of drug information and provider education, supportive care management, drug counseling on anticancer treatment and investigational agents, medication review and toxicity monitoring for patients enrolled in clinical trials, and support for UCHealth P&T and Specialty Pharmacy initiatives. In addition to clinical practice, the successful candidate for this position will have academic responsibilities in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (70% time). These responsibilities will include engagement in teaching/education, scholarship, and service. The faculty member will play an active role in the education of pharmacy students and residents through didactic and experiential training. Successful candidates for this position are expected to teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum in required and elective courses and to serve as director for one or more courses.
