**Position Summary**
As a Clinical Development Oncology Pharmacist, you will create and maintain clinical content for specialty oncology drugs covered under the pharmacy and medical benefit. You will use and develop a strong knowledge of specialty oncology pharmaceuticals, disease management and therapeutics. Knowledge of utilization management interventions including prior authorization, step therapy, quantity limits and formulary exception is required.
Additionally, you will work in a matrix relationship with business partners and product teams to identify, develop, and monitor the impact of oncology programs on supporting drug coverage through the pharmacy and medical benefit. You should have experience interpreting drug information to support UM. Knowledge of regulations impacting UM for Medicare, Medicaid and Exchange clients is preferred. It will be necessary to create clinical content for all business segments (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and Marketplace) with the ability to be consultative to product owners, account management and clients.
This is a hybrid role, based out of our Buffalo Grove, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, or NYC office locations.
**Required Qualifications**
- Active pharmacist license that is in good standing in state of residence
- 2+ years of relevant work experience or PBM experience
- 2+ years demonstrated experience in clinical therapeutics for oncology drugs
- Completion of Oncology Pharmacist Board Certification (BCOP) when eligibility requirements are met
**Preferred Qualifications**
Pharmacy Practice Residency preferred.
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred.
- Skilled in various PC applications, including MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of PBM and benefit design preferred
- 2+ years of Managed Care or PBM experience
**Education**
- Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD (required)
- Active Pharmacy License (required) in good standing

**Pay Range**
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,000.00 - $225,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

Works closely with all functions of the Patient Excellence unit, especially with Access Solutions and Hub partners, to enhance the overall customer and patient experience. May engage with marketplace stakeholders prior to, at the time of launch and after product approval. Will also support the design and development of Oncology educational resources, including disease state and management tools, healthcare provider resources, patient, care partner, community advocates, and consumer education materials and product programming. Demonstrates expert knowledge of Oncology disease state, treatment guidelines, product, supporting HCP's, Advanced Practice Providers and support staff. May identify and collaborate with local, regional, and national professional societies and organizations to enhance collaborative partnerships and may serve as an educational resource to promote disease awareness and advocacy. The incumbent may also provide disease state and product education, including regular clinical and resource updates to Specialty Pharmacy partners as well as Hub personnel.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Increase disease state and product knowledge to a variety of Oncology marketplace stakeholders, which may include patients, HCPs (both prescribing and non-prescribing healthcare stakeholders), Advanced Practice Clinicians, the multi-disciplinary clinical team, extended support staff and community organizations. Plays a critical role in the support of marketplace stakeholders by educating on the complexities of treatment and potential for adverse events. Customer engagements may occur prior to, during and post product launch. Possessing expert knowledge, he/she may support the design of tools and resources that enhance clinical management of Oncology patients, as appropriate. The incumbent serves as an integrated educational resource for multidisciplinary support staff team members, and as a result, optimizes the delivery of holistic patient support in both academic and community settings. Through education, the incumbent will support safe and responsible utilization of therapy as prescribed by the healthcare team.
+ Collaborates with and provides support for the entire assigned Region, which may consist of multiple cross-functional partners and may require coverage of multiple states. Serves as conduit of information supporting internal and external partners within clinics, hospitals, accounts, and in the local community, across the Region. Identifies, supports, and communicates educational and potential business opportunities for related TA product and shares intelligence with TA stakeholders, where appropriate. Supports the attainment of TA business and educational goals. Executes on patient, care partner, HCP, clinic staff and consumer focused support initiatives through collaborative relationships with local, regional and national professional associations and patient advocacy organizations.
+ May serve as an ongoing source of continuing education and support for internal partners and external customers. They may provide assistance to Boehringer Oncology training leads, marketing partners and leadership in designing, developing and conducting appropriate product and marketplace training. May assist in the identification, design, development, and delivery of Oncology clinical educational programming, inclusive of slide kits, workbooks, and electronic media, and supports the review and approval process. Provides key insights and is a leader in the development and facilitation of educational resources on Oncology disease state and Boehringer products.
+ Performs all company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and company policy and procedures. When violations are noted, they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIPI's excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community.
**Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree required in Nursing or equivalent health care discipline such as Pharmacy. Graduate degree, such as NP or PA degree is a plus.
+ Active clinical license required.
+ A minimum of 3 or more years of successful combined clinical experience and/or pharmaceutical sales, clinical and/or community educator, or medical affairs experience (primary care, specialty care, institutional). Background & experience in Oncology preferred.
+ A minimum of 2 years experience in therapeutic area is required.
+ Excellent communications, objective setting, and influencing skills
+ Ability to travel in the US including overnight travel, approximately 50% (or more), depending on geography.
+ Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
+ Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant applications

Purpose:

As the preeminent institution in western Pennsylvania for the delivery of cancer care, the performance of basic, translational, and clinical research, and the education of the next generation of cancer researchers and physicians, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is exceptionally well-positioned to contribute to the global effort to reduce the burden of cancer.

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring a regular full-time Regulatory Specialist to help support the Oncology Clinical Research Services team located at the Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside/Pittsburgh, PA. This role will focus on Informed Consent Form negotiations, which will expedite the clinical trial activation process while working Monday through Friday daylight hours.

The Regulatory Specialist's purpose is to develop regulatory forms/documents using assigned clinical study materials, to usher clinical studies through the regulatory portion of the trial submission process, and to maintain the regulatory integrity of assigned clinical trials from approval to closure under the direction of the Regulatory Specialist Supervisor. Maintenance of the CTMS database is a crucial function of the position.

The Clinical Research Services (CRS) team is made up of nearly 200 staff members who facilitate the development, implementation, coordination, internal data monitoring, and completion of oncology-focused trials at Hillman. These trials include institutional (investigator-initiated), multi-center cooperative group/National Clinical Trial Network (NCTN), consortium, and industry-sponsored trials. Using a disease-specific centers model for conducting clinical trials, CRS provides study development and implementation assistance, submissions to the FDA, IRB processing, patient recruitment, study coordination, study-specific training, data collection, and specimen collection and processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses a variety of resources and strategies to manage protocols and to ensure compliance with protocol procedures and all reporting requirements as well as adherence to all CRS SOPs.

  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues.

  • Performs any other tasks that are assigned by CRS management to help the organization meet its mission.

  • Understands the ancillary UPMC committees, various regulatory agencies and sponsor submissions as per their guidelines. This includes an understanding of: preparing, submitting and tracking protocol requirements through the initial approval process, preparing and submitting modifications, annual renewals, annual reports, and fiscal forms, as well as preparing and reporting all safety and compliance events.

  • Maintains an organized and accessible regulatory file for site audit/monitoring visits, as per UPCI SOP.

  • Liaises with sponsors, investigators and team members, providing trial information and updates as required in written, oral, and meeting format, while adhering to appropriate timelines.

  • Supports the development of new staff and colleagues, may also serve as a preceptor.

  • Understands the process for compiling disease center Data Safety & Monitoring Board (DSMB) meeting agendas and recording, disseminating, and submitting the minutes from the meeting to the appropriate regulatory bodies.

  • Not only identifies opportunities for quality improvement, but also actively participates in quality improvement efforts both at the departmental and organizational levels.

  • Acts as a resource concerning regulatory information for all internal and external customers.

  • Bachelor's degree in a health, law, public health, business, science or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or related experience required.

  • Knowledge of clinical research trial regulations, (i.e., Office of Research and Human Protections (OHRP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is essential. OR 1+ years' experience in drug development, regulatory or clinical operations functions is preferred, Exceptional writing, planning, and organizational skills are required to prepare clinical study protocols, regulatory submissions, and various scientific and medical-related reports to contribute to the overall Clinical and Regulatory effort for oncology trials.

  • Preparation and maintenance of FDA submissions and the ability to appropriately summarize data for inclusion in requisite reports is necessary.

  • Previous work or strong knowledge of oncology is preferred.

  • Strong communication, presentation and computer, and database knowledge skills are required.

  • Must be capable of functioning independently with minimal supervision as well as perform and follow up with multiple projects.
