Job Purpose:
Design safe and efficient processes for Main Assembly and Sub-Assemblies for the AF Department. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize production functions.
Accountabilities:
- Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across AF manufacturing areas. Work to achieve Maximum Process Efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets.
- Perform time estimates for process/line work, equipment loads, and develop operation standards for the AF Department during development
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
- Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
- Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout.
- Collect feedback from the production floor in AF and address their concerns.
- Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.
Qualifications
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field or equivalent related experience.

- Set up, test, calibrate, and maintain mechanical and process equipment used in manufacturing.
- Inspect and diagnose equipment and systems, identifying issues and recommending solutions.

- Proven experience as a Mechanical/Process Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of process equipment, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Skilled in reading technical drawings, schematics, and process flow diagrams.
- Proficient in equipment setup, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills with a commitment to safety and organization.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on individual with an eye for process improvements. The Manufacturing Process Technician is a key member of the manufacturing engineering team. In this role you will be involved with process development and industrialization for new products, and improvement of existing processes.
Position responsibilities include:
- Understand, observe and enforce all safety practices.
- Perform as technical liaison with production planning, operations and product engineering personnel
- Plan and design manufacturing processes, as part of the project team, and following APQP principles if requested.
- Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization
- Review and evaluate proposed and processed engineering changes and/or other specification requirements.
- Overview prototypes making operations during product development to ensure future manufacturability
- Troubleshooting of main process issues, including tooling issues
- Implement process improvements to drive tighter capability of our manufacturing processes (application of SPC principles)
- Exhibit a high degree of responsibility with emphasis on safety.
- 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Rubber-to-metal molding or plastic molding experience is a plus. Associates or Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Experience working with adhesives and application of the adhesives to metals used in rubber to metal molding
- Proven track record in program management and leadership, with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Knowledge of design and development of molding tooling, lean manufacturing, and equipment design and assembly engineering
- Experience working in a ISO/TS/AS 9100 environment
- Knowledge of Process Control and SPC a plus
