The selected candidate will join as a member of an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program supporting 24/7 operations of a critical system. This position includes a comprehensive 20-week training course providing knowledge of a complex operational system. Upon completion of training, the employee will perform a set of 12-hour shifts and the on-the-job (OJT) checklist to earn their System Controller (SC) certification.
**Job responsibilities include**
+ Development of products and CONOPS for the 24/7 operation of a mission critical system
+ Troubleshooting of real-world operations issues
+ Trending of operational data and simulation of products and CONOPS prior to transition to operations
+ Maintaining systems operational state, ensuring health and safety of the systems while maximizing availability

This role will focus on optimizing supply chain operations at various levels to balance delivery, flexibility, supply capacity and cost, from base components through manufacturing to finished goods, in an environment of continual product introduction, directly managing billions of investment annually. We will do this primarily by building software and mathematical optimization models, and automated tracking of key performance metrics to drive desired strategic and operational outcomes. The team is uniquely positioned to develop and optimize our infrastructure supply chain operations at the most strategic levels with company level impact.This role is very cross-functional and provides an opportunity to work with our supply chain partners and a variety of engineering and business teams to power the rapid growth of Meta's products. This role will help to ensure optimal deployment and operation of our infrastructure from both a cost and technology perspective, with millions of servers, gigawatt of data center capacity, and cutting edge technology including advanced AI.
**Required Skills:**
Operations Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Own infrastructure supply chain operations for Meta (as part of Meta's overall capacity delivery plan): including servers, network, and data center equipment from components through manufacturing to finished goods
2. Design improvements to software systems to optimize supply chain operations efficiency and accuracy, partner with software engineers to implement and contribute code yourself
3. Develop and analyze business, manufacturing, and logistics data and scenarios to solve complex problems in manufacturing operations and hardware logistics and delivery
4. Develop and apply stochastic models to simulate complex manufacturing systems, including production capacity, throughput, and material flow
5. Analyze simulation results to identify bottlenecks, optimize production, and improve overall system performance
6. Contribute to end to end supply chain processes (as part of Meta's overall capacity delivery plan), methodologies, and data to deliver an executable and optimized supply plan
7. Manage and resolve critical escalations and exceptions in all areas of the supply chain
8. Build mathematical models to perform simulation and optimization studies of manufacturing flow & capacity considering material inputs, supply partners, and logistics
9. Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the most strategic levels
**Minimum Qualifications:**

10. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
11. 6+ years of experience in operations research, industrial engineering, or related field
12. 3+ years of experience in coding/scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, PHP
13. 3+ years of experience in supply chain management - planning, manufacturing, operations, inventory, etc
14. Experience working with distributed systems at scale
15. Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge
