**Shift and Schedule**
This position will be working 2nd shift which works Monday to Thursday **4 pm - 2:30 am**
Individuals working 2nd shift receive 10% shift premium on top of their hourly rate.
**Job Requirements**
**Responsibilities:**
- Applies basic job skills to operate CNC machining equipment and perform various secondary tasks such as tumbling, reworking, and cleaning
- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately operate CNC machining equipment.
- Work with team to trouble shoot operations and/or flow issues
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards, and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Meet documented and communicated standards for quality and productivity
- Keep records of production quantities and time
- Work safely with small hand tools and measuring equipment
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations

SUMMARY:
Production Operator 2 controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into tanks to make fertilizer products. Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Production Operator 2 follows standard operating procedure and performs process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, responds to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Production Operator 2 enters required production data and information into logs. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. Production Operator 2 works under moderate supervision. Gaining or having attained full proficiency in a specific area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operate Chemical and Organic Process Equipment and systems:
- Organize and facilitate loading and unloading of deliveries to the facility including equipment, ingredients, and final products.
- Document receipt of equipment and products
- Operate blenders and equipment pertaining to the coating and granulation of fertilizers.
- Operate augers, belt conveyors, blenders, tumblers, fluid bed dryers and various liquid and dry loading systems.
- Data recording and project tracking
- Cooperate with product development teams to establish target specifications.
- Keep detailed records of inclusions, processes, and results.
- Refine and improve processes to reach desired specifications.
- Participate in counts of materials onsite.
- Daily maintenance and cleaning of fertilizer facility
- May unload or move materials.
- Make batch plant operations and blend custom fertilizers.
- Fill out proper documentation for blend sheets.
- Monitor all tanks that are being pumped into or out of for leaks, spills, or damage.
- Ensure all equipment is working properly.
- Make sure the tank is properly stickered for warnings, deposit and tank testing.
- Wear proper safety equipment per SDS sheets of chemical being handled by an employee.
- Help with random sampling for fertilizer analysis accuracy.
- Work with production leads on awareness and management of any contaminated loads
- Chemicals utilized at this branch require the use of a full-face respirator when producing specifics products, must be able to pass the pulmonary test.
- Make sure all containers are properly cleaned (CPIs) and documented.
- Making sure all pumps and valves are labeled correctly, whether it be on or off, open or close, or the correct chemical name
- Attend product training sessions and meetings when necessary.
- Granulation and drying Hoop houses
- Monitoring product applications, calculating amounts, calibrating equipment, controlling applications, and operating equipment to blend fertilizers such as: pumps.

COMPETENCY:

- Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
- Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
- Follows engineering drawings, work order information, Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, SOPs, and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process.
- Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according to requisition established documentation (e.g., SOPs), layout plans, blueprints or other drawings.
- Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
- Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make sub-assemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment. Includes Machine Operator, Process Operations, Product Assembly, and Production Technician roles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- On a production basis, perform operations requiring operation and set-up knowledge of all equipment and machinery in the department(s) to which assigned.
- Clean and maintain work areas, tools and molds in order to maximize equipment downtime through Total
- Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S.
- Fabrication, processing and assembling of various products according to MCI's (manufacturing control
- instruction), blueprint tolerances and specifications.
- Use standard mechanical tools accurately and occasionally lift light to moderate weights.
- Operate on a production basis injection molding machines.
- Perform work with close tolerance and finish requirements and have a general knowledge of standard
- machining techniques.
- Watch for malfunction of machine and/or product and reports any problems to supervisor.
- Keep record of products produced and will perform inspections as required by MCIs.
- Monitor machine parameters (as required).
- Abide by defined plant and department safety policies, including personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications:
- Experience/Education
- Keen eye sight and comfortable working with microscopes and small, delicate parts
- Good communication skills, be able to describe technical issues in concise and accurate ways.
- Ability to understand and interpret 2D engineering drawings, particularly tight product tolerances.
- Experiences in FDA regulated shop environment a plus.
- Manage in-line production by verifying dimensions and visual product attributes through inspection (eye loupes, microscopes, etc.).
- Good understanding of injection molding concepts.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environment desired, particularly in a machining operation.
- Good communication skills, able to describe technical issues in concise and accurate ways.
- Able to follow instructions and guidelines set forth by the area Lead or Supervisor.
- Able to meet daily production goals in regard to Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
- High school degree or GED Required
