Responsibilities:
Responsible for computer network activities associated with the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring, maintenance and security of databases in the organization. Designs, develops, modifies, tests and evaluates programs for functional areas. Analyzes existing programs, formulates requirements for new systems, performs coding and tests/debugs programs. Follows transition and system implementation plans. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Assists users in transition and implementation of new systems/programs. A senior level position requires a seasoned professional with a full understanding of industry practices with a high level of work experience and proficiency in field.
* Provides high level technical support, database problem management, change management and maintenance on systems.
* Performs problem analysis for complex configurations of critical databases.
* Performs complex installation, configuration, customization and tuning. Provides input on answers to technical questions and problems while adhering to standards and procedures.
* Assists in strategic planning and database architecture and design. Makes recommendations on functional and business requirements.
* Participates in project activities and provides technical assistance for assigned projects.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Have the ability to adapt to our culture and learn the way we manage and support our systems.
Hours of Work: May require extended work hours. Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary. Subject to on-call 24/7 rotation.

Technical Qualifications:
* Current, in-depth knowledge and work experience installing and configuring Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS)
* Current, in-depth knowledge and work experience performing database monitoring and tuning
* Current expert knowledge and work experience with
o Database upgrade and patching
o Backup and recovery mechanisms of Oracle using RMAN
o Database security
o Database design, database packages and structures
o SQL and PL/SQL
* Current expert knowledge and work experience with Oracle Clusterware (CRS) concepts, administration, and troubleshooting.
* Work experience required
o Supporting Patch Set Update/Release Update (PSU/RU) patching
o Data Guard configuration, switchover, and failover
o Oracle Enterprise Manger (OEM) administration
* Experience/knowledge in AIX/Linux systems, Unix, networking and storage
* Experience in Windows Operating System

Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.
-
Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.

Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
-
Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
-
Advises users on access to various client/server databases.
-
Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
-
Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back- end programming languages (e.g., SQL).
-
Performs database programming and supports systems design.
-
Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.

Five (5) years progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle SQL. Also has at least three years hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems.

Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages.

Has experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database.

Expert with enterprise Oracle database software and application products, Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2.5
