Perform statistical techniques needed to validate assessments, including correlation, regression, t-tests, and descriptive statistics. Write, review, revise R script for statistical analyses. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. Current enrollment in a graduate-level I/O Psychology program. The Department of Psychology in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch College, a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY), invites applications for a doctoral-level lecturer in Industrial and Organizational (I-O) Psychology to begin August 2026. This position is focused on expanding curricular and experiential learning opportunities for students in our undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and masters programs who are interested in careers related to Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Undergraduate students served by our faculty include those pursuing a General Psychology BA through the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, those pursing an I-O psychology BBA through the Zicklin School of Business, and those in our new (first class anticipated Fall 2026) Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Psychology, which has specialized tracks in both Counseling/Clinical and Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Our Masters programs include a Masters of Science in I-O Psychology, Executive Masters in I-O Psychology and a Masters of Mental Health Counseling.
The teaching responsibilities of this position will include undergraduate-level research methods or statistics, introductory and advanced I-O courses, and a masters-level I-O research practicum. The service responsibilities of this position will include providing leadership and career development experiences for the I-O track of the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program.
Lecturer faculty are considered "master teachers" who occupy full-time faculty lines focused almost entirely on teaching and service (no research requirements). Mentoring and advising are considered central to this position. Service may also include serving on committees and contributing to projects and programs, particularly those related to teaching and learning. Lecturer faculty participate as full faculty members of the Psychology Department, the College, and the University. In their fifth year, lecturers are eligible for promotion to a Certificate of Continuous Employment (tenure-like status) based on teaching excellence and dedicated service.

Education/Experience:

We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant to support our organization in overseeing human resources and payroll operations on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in California public sector HR and payroll administration, ensuring compliance with state and local labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and internal policies. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in payroll systems, HR compliance, and employee relations, with the ability to collaborate across departments and provide guidance on best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage end-to-end payroll processing for public sector employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
+ Administer HR functions including employee onboarding, benefits administration, leaves of absence, performance management, and policy interpretation.
+ Ensure compliance with California labor laws, CalPERS/CalSTRS, union agreements, and public agency reporting requirements.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert for HR and payroll practices, advising leadership on policies, procedures, and regulatory updates.
+ Oversee data integrity within HRIS and payroll systems, generating reports and audits as needed.
+ Manage employee inquiries and resolve payroll or HR-related issues promptly and effectively.
+ Partner with Finance, Legal, and other departments to streamline processes and maintain accurate documentation.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum 5+ years of HR and payroll management experience, with at least 3 years in a California public sector environment (city, county, state, special district, or education agency).
Strong knowledge of CalPERS, CalSTRS, FLSA, and California wage and hour laws.
Experience with collective bargaining agreements and union negotiations preferred.
Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, ADP, Workday, SAP, Tyler Munis).
Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage confidential information.
Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

We specialize in providing fractional, project-based and advisory HR & Recruiting Consulting services to small and medium-sized companies that while small, often face HR complexities due to being geographically dispersed or in growth/transition. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our Human Resource Consulting team and looking to hire a Senior HR Consultant. Most of our consultants support multiple clients simultaneously, often collaborating with other Hire Ventures consultants to deliver exceptional results in a fractional/part-time capacity. We are not industry-specific but work with chosen clients who care about the culture they are building and who place a high value on the employee experience. We partner with our clients, acting as an embedded part of their team, often in a leadership capacity but with the ability to handle all things HR.

We're looking for a proven self-starter who is passionate and experienced in various areas of Human Resources. This is a hybrid role based in Atlanta , blending work from our office and remote.

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as an extension of our client's in-house team, providing HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, leave management, and employee exiting/offboarding.
  • Completing HR Audits, creating HR roadmaps, establishing the HR functions and building efficiencies around hiring, onboarding, employee development, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
  • Handle tasks as needed, such as payroll & benefits management, compensation, performance management, coaching and leadership development.
  • Project-based work like crafting Employee Handbooks, conducting HR Audits or HR Investigations.
  • HR is ever-changing, and many of our clients are geographically dispersed with employees in multiple states, with this, consultants must stay current on state and federal employment laws to ensure client compliance.
  • Contribute to the Hire Ventures blog, website content, and social media platforms, showcasing thought leadership in HR.
  • Participate in team meetings and work closely with other consultants to share knowledge and strengthen the Hire Ventures brand. Must be willing to promote our brand via LinkedIn and other platforms.
To be considered you must have the following:
  • This position is located in Atlanta and will be a hybrid role, working out of our office at Atlanta Tech Village as well as virtually.
  • Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or relevant and equivalent experience
  • HR Certification is a plus.
  • Must have 10+ years of progressive and relevant HR experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, be motivated, articulate and make sound decisions under the position guidelines - in a positive, results-driven and forward-thinking manner.
  • Should have an active presence in the professional world, especially LinkedIn.
