The Supply Chain Operations Manager is responsible for managing, executing and optimizing Supply Chain strategies as it relates to the daily distribution and transportation activities within assigned area(s) of a market. This may include, but is not limited to, functional responsibility for one or more departments such as receiving, order fulfillment, shipping/loadout and/or transportation. This position is responsible for P&L management, staffing, and ensuring the execution and accountability of KPIs, regulations and associate safety. This position will actively engage and interact with site and regional leadership to implement work process design and flow to improve performance and overall efficiency. The Manager, as a member of the leadership team, will continually identify ways to improve our operations and ensure that both internal and external customers receive the highest level of service. The Manager sustains a cohesive and effective team within his or her area of responsibility by managing and developing associates to achieve high quality and productivity in concert with the company's goals and company values.
Primary Responsibility
- Plan and Manage the efficient receipt, storage, order fulfillment and loading of inventory and/or transportation, through vigilant focus on KPI's, Quality and Service goals; utilizing forecasting methodologies and tools.
- Plan and Manage Multi-Departmental P&L's, with accountability for cost containment and efficiency.
- Implement Lean methodology and use the principals to lead continuous improvement with teams.
- Recruit, hire, train and develop Distribution and/or Transportation associates; ensure coverage planning for staffing requirements and resource allocations.
- Provide leadership and motivation for 20-30 direct report associates. Communicate effectively with associates and create an open communication style that fosters a collaborative work environment.
- Conduct associate performance reviews, ongoing performance discussions, and salary review recommendations. Monitor, observe and record productivity, quality and utilization for assigned area.
- Administer training, qualification, safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Communicate and administer policies and procedures in assigned area.
- Ensure that the physical condition of the work areas are conducive to a healthy and safe working environment.

Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Business, Engineering, Distribution Management preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in a production, logistics, transportation, or business-to-business distribution facility
- Two years of managerial or leadership development experience preferred
- Leadership role in Distribution, Transportation, or Operations preferred
- Black Belt certifications in 5s or Dale Carnegie courses preferred
- Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and leadership skills, strong knowledge of warehouse and/or transportation operations and procedures, proven decision-making capabilities, ability to manage and motivate employees.
- Knowledge of Warehouse/Transportation operations, Warehouse/Transportation Management Systems, Inventory Control processes and / or logistics preferred.
- Cloud based systems and other ad hoc reporting
- Self-motivated, team player
- Ability to set and manage expectations; observe and monitor work progress
- Lead through change and deliver critical coaching and feedback on associate performance

Reporting to the Director of Distribution Center Operations, this leadership role is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to an 80+ team member 2-shift distribution center shipping over 750K lines in annual volume with the additional functions of centralized returns and manufacturing value add services. This position will ensure product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment operations through the optimization of resources and processes while achieving key safety, quality, cost, and engagement performance. They will drive the operation, development, and implementation of key processes to ensure compliance within company policies and procedures. By using continuous improvement tools (such as Lean and Six Sigma), lead employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where team members are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of the company. In This Role You Will Ensure product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment operations through the optimization of resources and processes while achieving key safety, quality, cost, and engagement performance. Manages both the operational leadership team, and functional staff including, to include; Continuous Improvement, Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Inventory Control and Quality. Ensures the use of Lean tools to develop systems, standard work and procedures for operating and managing all aspects of distribution operations including core operations processes, human resources management, care of the physical facilities, and inventory asset oversight. Ensures the utilization of warehouse systems (technical, automated, and manually driven) to meet company objectives and facilitate the efficient operations of the warehouse. Ensures the facility meets with required Environmental Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with federal state, and/or local regulations and secures those areas needed for ISO 14001 and Eaton Safety Programs (MESH). Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that compliance commitments and operational performance goals are met while driving continuous improvements in productivity. Develops an annual operating budget which drives for productivity improvements while managing the lifecycle of the facility and equipment and driving to a world class workplace environment. Position Description:
The Distribution Center Lead oversees and assists with the day-to-day activities of assigned shifts and associates, as instructed by the Distribution Center Supervisor and/or the Distribution Excellence Manager. The DC Lead acts as a "player-coach," monitoring and assisting the work of warehouse associates performing a variety of duties related to warehousing, transportation and safety and inventory functions in the warehouse. The DC Lead also assists with implementing work procedures to increase productivity and improve service within the operation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversees and assists with the day-to-day activities of assigned shifts as instructed by the Distribution Center Supervisor. Assists with evaluating the performance of team members and providing training experience as needed giving feedback to the distribution center management. Assist with the reinforcement of SEAL and Standard Work along with assisting with implementation of the SEAL Operating Systems and Standard work to increase productivity and improve service within the operation. Records, either by manual or automated inventory control system, the receipt, storage and distribution of equipment, supplies and specialty items in centralized warehouse operation Assists with supervision of maintenance of facilities, product handling equipment and inventory warehousing control systems, manual or automated. Coordinates all assigned warehousing activities with management and administration Champions safe working conditions and monitors associates to ensure safe operation of equipment within the warehouse Perform other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Supervisor.

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for leading and managing the overall strategy, execution, and daily operations of the distribution center. The position ensures the efficient handling and delivery of all internal and external mail, as well as incoming and outgoing parcels, shipments, and cargo from various carriers, while delivering exceptional customer service to all members of the university community.
Position Specific Accountabilities- Manage, coordinate, and oversee the operations of the Distribution Center, including Mail Services, Bulk Mail, the University Hall mail facility, campus mailboxes, and Shipping/Receiving. Ensure the efficient and timely handling of all U.S. mail, intra-campus correspondence, courier and parcel deliveries, as well as forwarding services. Additionally, develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the Distribution Center operates effectively and aligns with institutional standards. (20%)
- Oversee the training programs for staff and student workers, ensuring comprehensive instruction on internal policies and procedures, USPS Rules and Regulations, and courier or common carrier processes. This includes fostering the professional development of all Distribution Center supervisors, staff, and student workers to enhance their skills and performance. (20%)
- Develop and maintain the Distribution Center's operational and capital budgets, as well as its daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes. Manage and coordinate all accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely billing, chargebacks, and payment processing, maintaining financial integrity across operations. (15%)
- Actively participate in professional organizations related to USPS, Mail Services, and Distribution Center activities. (10%)
- Engage regularly with the university community to provide training and meetings on the proper procedures and policies of the Distribution Center, USPS, and other common carriers.
