We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary part-time **Electronics Design Engineer - Space Exploration Electronic Systems** to join the team with Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company.
The **Electronics Design Engineer - Space Exploration Electronic Systems** will:
+ Report directly to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager as part of group of over 45 other Electronics and Electrical Engineers.
+ Work directly with or as a Team Lead and associated Electrical Engineers on a given project.
+ Support new designs from conception, analysis, and manufacturing, through to operational test and deployment.
+ Provide design support and guidance in various aspects of Electronics System Development.
+ Be familiar with NASA specifications for Electronics Component development.
+ Develop component test stand architectures for various components.
+ Design and generate electrical component and lab instrumentation test system designs.
+ Develop and or modify LabVIEW code for various test systems.
+ Develop detailed test verification procedures.
+ Work with electrical and mechanical technicians to build and test designed systems.
+ Develop and test various breakout boxes and digital/analog sensor emulation systems.
+ Perform electrical evaluation/selection of instrumentation (pressure transducers, flow meters, pumps, fans, RTDs, Thermocouples, etc.).
+ Troubleshoot and repair existing test systems.
+ Conduct analog and digital printed circuit board design for various application needs.
+ Develop test software modules to perform specific tests.
+ Work with eCAD designer to develop printed circuit board designs.
+ Work in a laboratory environment, following standard operating procedures.

**Requisition Qualifications:**

**Requisition Preferences:**

+ Hands on experience in the design, build, and test of embedded systems
+ Prior experience with circuit simulation tools such as Pspice, OrCAD, Multisim etc .

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
Electronics Technician is responsible for solving problems not resolved by plant electricians. This includes working closely with electricians to resolve problems and requires mechanical knowledge of the equipment. This position reports directly to the Plant Engineering Manager.
• Program, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Programmable Logic Controllers utilizing PC and manufacturer's programming software. Recognize and correct potential problems in programs on new equipment installs as well as streamline programs for maximum efficiency and safety.
• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair process instrumentation and control equipment such as PID loop controllers, I/P and E/P converters, pressure transducers, and pneumatic actuators.
• Maintain, calibrate, and repair electronic scales and other ingredient weighing devices to include documentation to ensure ISO 9000 requirements are met.
• Setup, program, troubleshoot and repair variable speed AC and DC drive systems and related instrumentation and control equipment such as tach generators, pulse encoders, strain gauges, and dancer control systems.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Process laser micrometer measuring equipment and associated instrumentation and control equipment
• Assist Facilities Engineering in specifying, installing, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Assist Process Engineering and Production personnel on implementation of processes and design changes.
• Communicate with vendors for repair/purchase of equipment.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
• Associates Degree or higher in Industrial Electronics Technology or similar
• Allen Bradley Programming Experience desired
• 5 years or more experience preferred
• Good computer Skills related to machinery control. HMI, PLC Programming, Ladder Logic
• Working knowledge of word processor programs and spreadsheets (MS Word and Excel)
• Working knowledge of related test equipment (oscilloscope, Multimeter, recorders, megohmmeter, digital low resistance OHM meters, etc.)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
