Position Overview:
The Base Engine Design Engineering team is responsible for designing marine engine cylinder block assemblies, cylinder heads, valvetrains, valvetrain drives, crankshafts, balance shaft systems, connecting rods, pistons, flywheels, and oil pumps. The anticipated pay range for this position is $72,000 - $115,300 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus program. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.

We’re hiring a hands-on Engine Builder for our New Hudson facility. This role tears down, inspects, machines, and assembles internal combustion engines—then validates performance through measurement, testing, and tuning support. You’ll work directly with engines and vehicles, collaborating with engineers and technicians to deliver dependable stock, performance, and custom builds.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble engines; inspect for wear, damage, and defects, documenting findings.

• Perform or support machining operations (boring, honing, decking, valve/seat work, resurfacing).

**What are your contributions to the team?**
· Adhere to general work requirements
· Inspect engines and/or APUs, components and associated aircraft systems and components in accordance with appropriate maintenance manuals with minimal supervision
· Assist with installation, removal or modifications and repairs of turbine engines, APUs and airframe systems or components
· Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
· Assist with engine/APUs and related systems operational checks and functional tests
· Assist with performing complete engine runs
· Assist with off-aircraft component repair
· Ability to effectively communicate in English in both written and verbal form
· Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
· Operate ground support equipment
· Own and maintain hand tools with the ability to demonstrate inventory and control of tools
· Ability to operate industrial vehicles and equipment (scissor/boom lift, forklift, etc.)
· Comply with environmental, health and safety policies and procedures. Participatein5-S activities. Perform work in a safe and timely manner
· Basic PC skills
**How to thrive in this role?**
