Job Description

CEC Controls Co. Inc. is looking for an Automotive Conveyor Controls Engineer that must be able to lead and perform the design of control systems, from start to finish, as well as the engineering and field start up for the “System Integration in the Electrical Controls” Industry for manufacturing. Experience in industries related to automotive automation and controls required. Demonstrated troubleshooting and electrical design skills are absolutely necessary. This position will focus mostly on hardware design but knowledge of software design is also preferred. This position can be a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

• Electrical – Experience with automotive electrical conveyor system design and calculations.
• Networking – Knowledge of ethernet networks required, Devicenet knowledge also preferred.
• Programming – General knowledge of conveyor programming tools and requirements
• Mechanical – Autocad electrical, FactoryCad, and Eplan experience preferred.
• Standards – Knowledge of General Motors standards and deliverables is preferred.
• Customer communication – Communicating with the customer and supporting engineering team.
• Industrial controls (PLC & HMI) – knowledge of industrial controls and automation is a requirement.
• Good communication in person and remotely through Microsoft Office365 tools.

Skills / Qualifications

• A minimum of two years' experience and knowledge in the automotive conveyor electrical design field is required. General Motors design experience is required.
• Associates degree or related field OR 2-5 years of automation experience – automotive plant experience is a plus
• Reviewing general project specifications and scope of work
• Assisting in installation and debug of conveyor systems
• Launch and standby support at the end user's facility
• Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
• Ability to self-manage working remotely as well as working in the Warren CEC office as required.
• Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from CEC is required
• Travel requirement up to approximately 25%

Responsibilities

Essential Duties include the following but are not limited to:

• Reads & Interprets Advisor write-ups to properly diagnose vehicle performance concerns
• Communicates with GM Technical Assistance (TAC) to obtain current diagnostic & repair procedures
• Maintains GM and State Training Certifications for all qualified repair categories
• Works to obtain additional certifications as shop training needs and workload allow
• Clearly documents repair procedures on Repair Orders in compliance with GM Warranty and State requirements
• Coordinates with Parts Warehouse to obtain quotes and order necessary parts for jobs
• Works closely with Foreman and Manager to prioritize work for good CSI
• Maintains production average commensurate with experience
• Performs thorough test drives to verify customers’ concerns and repair quality
• Performs and thoroughly documents inspections on each vehicle to ensure customers are informed of maintenance and repair needs beyond the initial complaint/concern

Qualifications

• GM and State Certifications beyond basic maintenance and suspension required
• Transmission, Heavy Engine Repair and Diesel strongly preferred
• Clean DMV record
• Authorized to work in the United States and Michigan
• Obtain/Maintain a personal tool collection appropriate for experience and work desired.

What You Will Do

• Sell and promote Molex product solutions by engaging with existing vehicle segment contacts and identifying new strategic prospects
• Meet or exceed account growth targets related to profit and project pipeline
• Align and execute account strategies in accordance with the Global Account strategy
• Develop, implement, and maintain a sales plan for the Global GM Account
• Identify and cultivate new market segments for long-term profitable growth
• Collaborate with Molex leadership teams to drive profitable growth across product lines
• Manage a team of 3-5 Account Managers & Resident Engineers, aligning their roles and responsibilities with the sales plan; mentor and coach team members to support and sustain future growth

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
• Experience in sales or account management roles within the automotive industry
• Minimum of 3 years in a sales management role, demonstrating effective leadership and development of direct reports
• Sales management experience at a systems level Tier 1 supplier
• Proven experience in selling products or services related to vehicle body electronics, powertrain, lighting, EV, infotainment systems, or networking solutions
• Strong background in automotive OEM account management, including strategy development and contract negotiations
• Proficient in using SAP/CRM systems
• Ability to travel locally to Warren, MI weekly and global travel up to 10% a year
