Job Summary

MS Exchange and M365

1. Exchange , M365, Proof Point and Right Fax Administration:

Oversee the setup, configuration, and management of on-premises Exchange servers and/or Exchange Online within the M365 suite.

Manage the lifecycle of Exchange infrastructure, including backups, upgrades, patching, and migration tasks.

Administer user accounts, mailboxes, distribution groups, and permissions within Exchange and Microsoft 365.

2. Security and Compliance:

Implement and enforce security policies, including data loss prevention (DLP), email encryption, anti-phishing, and anti-malware measures.

Monitor and manage compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements within the M365 environment, including retention policies, legal holds, and eDiscovery.

Manage and audit multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access, and other identity/security measures in M365.

3. Collaboration and Productivity Tools:

Enable and maintain collaboration tools within M365 (Right Fax, Teams, Exchange) to improve employee productivity and communication.

Oversee integrations with other tools and services, ensuring smooth and reliable functionality.

4. Technical Leadership:

Serve as the primary technical expert on Exchange and M365, providing guidance and mentorship to IT team members.

Position Summary :

The Messaging Engineer will serve as the first escalation point for all Microsoft Outlook and email-related support requests passed from the Helpdesk and Deskside Support teams. This position is responsible for monitoring incoming tickets, responding to email system alerts, and performing daily health checks within the messaging environment. He/she will also be responsible for any project based work assigned to them.

The position will interface with users at all levels of the organization-including attorneys, paralegals, administrative professionals, and clerical staff-to troubleshoot and resolve messaging-related issues. Additional responsibilities will be assigned by the Manager of Email Technology as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily checks and maintenance of the email messaging environment.
  • Manage support requests assigned to the Email Messaging team until they've come to an acceptable resolution and closure; escalating to the Senior Messaging Engineer as necessary.
  • Monitor the email environment with tools such as ENOW, Solarwinds, and any email alerts that come in throughout the day and attend to and/or escalate as necessary.
  • Document and update procedures for tasks that can be delegated to Helpdesk or Deskside Support.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex email-related issues beyond the scope of Deskside Support.
  • Participate and be available in on-call rotation.
  • Assist in the administration of the entire email infrastructure which include, but not limited to, Proofpoint, Mailgate, Exchange 2016 and Exchange Online.
  • Assist in any after hour tasks necessary such as Windows Patching or project based work.
  • Provide daily status updates to the Manager of Email Technology.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Helpdesk or IT support, with a focus on Microsoft Outlook and email troubleshooting.
  • Experience with current Outlook versions 2019 and 365.
  • Experience with Exchange 2016
  • Experience with Exchange Online administration is a plus.
Education / Experience :

Minimum AA degree in Computer Science or graduate of a technical school or comparable experience.

Skills & Abilities :
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook troubleshooting and support.
  • Basic IT Helpdesk and ticketing system knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities : Support the creation of new user accounts and delete old user accounts in accordance with customer procedures and policies using Googles CPanel and other Microsoft tools. Provide training for new users on accessing, sending and receiving email. Monitor accounts for data storage use and provide regular reports containing data storage that exceeds determined amounts. Respond to and resolve end-user email problems. Recommend email architectures and upgrades, including performing cost benefit analysis and project plan contributions. Install, document, define and support all email system activities related to the customer's email systems. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree, MSP Exchange, MCSE or equivalent required 5+ years of technical experience with additional experience in supporting, managing and architecting enterprise email systems, mobile device management (i.e., MaaS 360) and working knowledge of Lotus Notes / Domino databases Experience with Googles CPanel and other Microsoft tools Background check Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously. Chicago, IL - WFH 3 days/week, onsite 2 days/week in the loop

Summary
The Senior Messaging Engineer is responsible for operational support of and project initiatives for the global enterprise messaging environment, where you'll join a team of 4 engineers (you'll be the 5th). This position/team provides maintenance, support, and enhancements of the messaging systems including M365, Exchange, Outlook, Proofpoint, MDM Solutions, Email archiving, Active Directory, Azure AD and Application Performance Management.

What you'll be doing
  • Serve as subject matter expert for email client software such as Microsoft Office 365
  • Professionally coordinate, collaborate with and assist Customer Support (Tier 1 and Tier 2) personnel with messaging related incidents
  • Interface and coordinate with third-party software vendors as needed to achieve timely resolution of business impacting problems
  • Provide recommendations on optimizing the performance of system environment, including security best practices, reconfiguration, maintenance and/or upgrades
  • Train engineers and support specialist on operating and supporting messaging solutions
  • Manage mail gateway systems
  • Adapt communication content, message, and terminology based on audience expressing ideas in a succinct manner using plain language
  • Monitor and analyze messaging to ensure 99.9% uptime
  • Document system uptime and usage metrics
  • Provide 24x7 On-Call support on a rotating basis
