Law Bulletin Media is a diversified information company serving the legal, real estate and financial markets. We are seeking a dedicated Subscription Coordinator to be part of our growing team!
Position Summary:
The Subscription Coordinator (SC) is responsible for managing and marketing subscriptions for many of our products including Lawyerport, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Chicago Lawyer magazine, Chicago Law Journal and Sullivan’s Law Directory. The SC works directly with customers and collaboratively with the broader Lawyerport sales team to maintain and increase subscriptions to our digital and print products. The SC also maintains our subscription database and assists with the distribution of our digital and print products. The SC is part of a broad sales and customer support team that work together to manage customer relationships and ensure we are delivering on customer expectations. The Subscription Coordinator reports to the Customer Support Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Assist subscribers to ensure that they have appropriate access to digital products and are receiving print publications in a timely manner.
- Maintain the circulation database by regularly entering and updating subscriber information.
- Manage digital subscriptions in Lawyerport.
- Oversee the renewal and billing processes to ensure timely payment by subscribers.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on the status and trends of subscriptions.
- Maintain distribution lists for our various email products.
- Assist in the creation and management of marketing campaigns for our products.
- Assist in the management of Law Bulletin Media events.
- Research Lawyerport profiles and input updates.
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Position Qualifications:
- Education: B.A. with a marketing focus preferred.
- 2-3 years in marketing, customer service or related field for B2B business.
- Subscription management system or CRM experience preferred.
- Familiarity with legal industry, lawyers and law firms preferred.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development - Podcasts, this position will be instrumental in shaping and expanding the division's subscription and direct-to-consumer revenue streams. The individual in this role will develop strategic initiatives to grow and retain subscriber bases, collaborating across internal teams (marketing, business development, finance, research & insights, and production) to bring these initiatives to life.
The ideal candidate is a podcast enthusiast and/or digital content expert with a passion for understanding audiences-what motivates them, how they behave, and what they value. They are a creative, outside-the-box thinker with hands-on experience launching and scaling new business initiatives - subscription experience is a plus. This individual excels at synthesizing data and consumer insights to inform strategy, working cross-functionally to execute projects, staying organized and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Success in this role requires a proactive mindset, comfort with experimentation, and a knack for turning innovative ideas into actionable results to grow this exciting business vertical.
What you'll do:
- Help to develop and execute strategies that will drive acquisition growth on existing subscription channels, increase engagement with current subscribers and lead to higher lifetime subscriber value
- Regularly collaborate and communicate with the creative teams behind our always-on entertainment slate to evaluate impact of subscriber content and continuously identify ways to grow and engage subscribers (seasonal promos, special episodes, price testing etc)
- Support producers as the expert in subscription operations - understand operational nuances across different distribution platforms and be able to guide producers in launching and maintaining their shows/episodes on these platforms
- Work closely with platform partners - specifically Supporting Cast and Patreon to identify and execute on acquisition and retention opportunities specific to these platforms
- Manage day to day operations involved in maintaining our true crime podcast network The Binge. With a new show launching every month - you will be responsible for managing the end to end lifecycle of each show including - working cross-functionally across production, marketing and creative teams along with guiding our creative agency in tile artwork development
- Consolidate and review multiple data sources and measures to not only monitor performance of our subscription slate but identify actionable insights against it. Stay ahead of industry trends by regularly reviewing competitive developments in the rapidly evolving podcast subscription space, identifying opportunities to refine and optimize strategies.
