About the Position

CDL Driver is responsible for transporting heavy equipment and occasionally rock, sand, and other materials from distribution center to customer locations. Drivers are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip, and load and unload products from the trailer to customer facilities. Drivers also follow appropriate safety procedures to transport dangerous cargo and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours.

- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, field superintendents, project managers, and other team members to coordinate transportation activities and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.

- Follow all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating commercial vehicles.

- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspections, as required by company policy and regulatory agencies.

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment as needed and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

- Valid Arkansas Class A CDL driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a heavy haul driver, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.

- Experience transporting oversize, overweight, and over-height loads.

- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.

- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, bulldozers, and excavators is a plus.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety at all times.

- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as needed.

  • Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in all types of terrain
  • Able to meet all physical requirements such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to work around loud noises and can tolerate being exposed to odors, gases, dust, etc.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, and in excavated areas.
