What we are looking for in a Material Handler:
  • Preferred: Certification in Forklift Operation. Experience with a picker, RF scanner and inventory experience.

  • Must be a highly organized, detailed person who can monitor numerous projects at once and who can prioritize workload.

As a Material Handler you will be responsible for fulfilling orders of customers, replenishment, transfers, clean-up, providing excellent customer service, and assisting team members with daily tasks. What will you be doing as a Material Handler?
  • Handle the processing of incoming orders from suppliers.
  • Meet deadlines and schedules for routine procedures and deliveries.
  • Handle shipping/receiving activity including, but not limited to UPS, auto freight, "will call," store-to-store transfers, and LTL shipments.
  • Ensure pick/pack and transfer orders are picked and packed focused on quality and accuracy according to the daily schedule.
  • Check-in corporate orders the same day that they are received.
  • Maintain the accurate locations for all inventory items.
  • Maintain materials in good order and condition during handling, shipping, receiving and storage.
  • Ensure cycle counts are completed in an efficient and accurate manner. Cycle counts are performed daily, according to Inventory Control needs.
  • Properly load and unload vehicles ensuring load security.
  • Process all required paperwork in a timely manner to allow for prompt invoicing of clients.
  • Operate pallet movers, hand-trucks, forklift trucks and other material handling equipment according to safety regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse machinery and equipment.
  • Loading and unloading customer orders into company vehicle, delivering products to customers, and ensuring the maintenance, upkeep, and repairs of the company vehicles and warehouse.
  • Following designated schedules and deadlines for delivery of local routes.
  • Perform any other duty or task as may be assigned from time to time by the Branch Manager.
What we are looking for in a Material Handler:
  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED
  • Preferred: Certification in Forklift Operation. Experience with a picker, RF scanner and inventory experience.
  • Preferred: Experience or knowledge of material handling a warehouse and/or distribution facility of a HVAC or related field, but not required
  • Must be a highly organized, detailed person who can monitor numerous projects at once and who can prioritize workload.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, math and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production

• Start-up, shut down & basic troubleshooting for each area material handling system

• Provides the correct items (raw material) in sufficient quantity to each production line per the daily requirement.

• Replenishes each production line with material prior to running out of materials to ensure that production lines do not go down.

• Returns into stock any components not used in the production processes.

• Fills in for any position on the production lines, or any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Removes all finished goods from production lines and places on the skid of finished goods on the stretch wrap machine.

• After skid of finished goods is stretch wrapped, then takes skid to a holding area for shipping or for stock in the shipping warehouse.

• Replaces scrap bins to each production line to maintain a clean environment.

• Assists Production Supervisor and other Material Handlers in any duties that need to be performed.

• In order to drive a forklift, he/she must be qualified by a Sabert Instructor.

• Ensure the correct materials and blend are loaded into each line by following the BOM and centerline

• Maintain material inputs and availability to all lines in production

• Remove scrap materials from each line that is created during the extrusion and thermoforming process

• Consistently clean and remove materials/dust/pellet/grinds from the production floor caused by spills, leakages, etc.

Maintenance

• Performs daily forklift maintenance and ensures that the forklift is always recharged and in good, safe working condition.

• Fills out a daily forklift safety sheet.

Safety

• Operates a forklift truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to certification protocol.

• Reports any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

• Adheres to safety policy.

• Must wear all safety gear at all times.

• Must wear hairnet and gloves while handling finished product.

• Must wear company issue uniforms.

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking a majority of the day (12 hour shift).

• Sitting and Driving backward with a load (20% of the day on forklift).

• Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally

General Job Description :

Performs multiple tasks as needed to assist production operations including maintaining required material supply levels, removal of finished product from the production floor, loading and unloading of trucks.

Major Duties:

Performs assigned duties and acts in a manner that adheres to Company safety policies and practices. Completes all tasks successfully with little to no supervision. Keep track of the warehouse stock, documenting orders and storing material; cartons and packing supplies, pallets, and shipping containers, resin and concentrates as required by the product, component supplies required for production. Stacks raw materials on the production floor neatly and safely in designated areas for easy access. Palletizes, tapes, bands, and or stretch wrapped boxes of finished product as required by packaging instructions.

Minor Duties:

Removes Palletized product from the production floor and places it in the designated areas. Returns unused labels to inventory upon completion of orders and records quantities. Accurately records all transaction and item movements. Maintains recycling areas for scrap, garbage, plastic, etc, Loads and unloads the truck for shipping and receiving materials. Assist maintenance when and if needed to move production items,

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand for long periods at times
  • Ability to work during high and low temperatures, high noise levels
  • Willingness to comply with the company guidelines in reference to appropriate plant safety and housekeeping! (we all clean and try to follow the 6S guides as much as possible)
