The Technical Services Production Services Packaging engineer delivers customer-oriented support and results for Supply Chain in focus areas of packaging materials, new product innovation, cost savings, supply assurance, brand maintenance, packaging sustainability, and finished product quality.

**In this role, you will:**
+ A successful candidate for this role must be a motivated self-starter able to provide proactive leadership ranging from innovation thru production start-ups. Activities may include supplier qualifications, data analysis, problem solving, specification development, manufacturing line trials, Design to Value innovation, change management, and regulatory compliance adherence.
+ This position provides direct and influential technical leadership and communications with team resources at different organizational levels in Supply Chain, R&D, and manufacturing.
+ This position plans and leads small- and medium-sized projects or participates on larger projects as a packaging materials functional expert.
+ This position will influence and coordinate other resources to effectively help solve problems and mitigate risks.
+ This position requires comfort with changing priorities and supporting new ways of working and change management processes.
+ Ability to travel and work in manufacturing plants including Clorox manufacturing plants, external manufacturing suppliers, and packaging material suppliers is required.
+ Leadership of Production Services Packaging activities and deliverables. Activities include developing plans, performing work, and ensuring proper change management processes & product information are entered in Clorox databases.
+ Participate on project teams (leadership if appropriate) to ensure "process" rigor and adherence to internal & external compliance requirements and standards. Review and ensure technical information is current, accurate, complete, and has gained proper concurrences (when appropriate).
+ Build strong alliances with other internal & external technical, business, suppliers, and consultant leaders. Develop skills, experiences, and recognition as a key functional resource in packaging material engineering and practices.
+ Leadership using problem-solving skills such as developing hypotheses, designing and executing test plans, and analyzing data. Ability to independently develop conclusions and recommendations.
+ Develop and transfer knowledge regarding the packaging materials and machine interfaces.
+ Support project teams delivering initiatives for the Cleaning Business Unit. Work closely with managers to develop plans, implement activities, and deliver results.
+ Proactive and independent leadership to remove or communicate barriers allowing work to be completed effectively and efficiently.
+ Create and support an environment driving an innovative, collaborative, and a "process" oriented workplace & culture.
+ Seek opportunities to help project teams and internal customers develop new ways of working while performing work.
+ Provide packaging materials knowledge and support to Cleaning BU functions such as R&D, Procurement, manufacturing, and commercialization project management.
+ Independently lead small to medium size projects.
+ Collaborate with and influence manufacturing & functional teams using tools such as scope or project plan documents, business driven recommendations, and presentations.
+ Independently establish action steps, activity prioritization, and ensure risk communications are elevated for awareness to direct manager and other functional leaders.
+ The scope of work includes all US Cleaning product categories.
+ Support Production Services packaging function to drive adherence of management of change processes.
+ Support to ensure process and data accuracy for packaging material and finished product packaging in Clorox databases such as PLM. Ensure process rigor with all work.
+ Ability to proactively communicate and lead thru influence, interaction, and oral & written communications.
+ Ability to collaboratively work and deliver results with other Supply Chain, R&D, and EM Manufacturing resources.
+ Required to travel independently or with other team resources. Travel will be domestic or Canada (if required). Ability to travel approx. 35% of time.

As a Packaging Line Operator/Materials Handler , you would be responsible for working in a variety of functions within the Granules Consumer Health manufacturing area, such as stacking/sorting/distributing bulk product and material, hand palletizing, sorting product, and raw material management (bottles, caps,), on our oral solid dosage pharmaceutical packaging line.

Training will be provided


Pay: $18.00/hour, Monday - Friday, must have flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed

Hiring for 1st shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) and 2nd shift (3:00p - 11:30pm)


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Support and adhere to all manufacturing safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist manufacturing with inspection, sorting, and bagging process for bulk product. Remove defects as needed (i.e., deformed, discolored, misshaped, etc.).
  • Assist Senior Operators .
  • Management of bulk product from clean room to the packaging area, sorting/stacking/cleaning trays to be returned to clean room as needed.
  • Visual sorting and DE clumping of bulk product prior to packaging process.
  • Supplying hoppers with bottles, caps and other raw materials as needed.
  • Supply bottle conveyor for metal detection, capping, and induction sealing.
  • Identify, retrieve, and inspect pallets, apply case labels as needed.
  • Break down of excess corrugate for bailing.
  • Proper communications protocol with all manufacturing, quality, and other operations staff to communicate and escalate product or equipment issues as needed.
  • Assist in line clearance, cleaning and sanitization procedures as needed.
  • Use basic hand tools.
  • Required to work in a clean room environment.
  • Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Operate packaging equipment
  • Keep packaging area stocked with packing supplies.
  • Follow proper safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • May be required: repetitive/sustained stooping and bending frequently.
  • Controlled environment; requires wearing special gowning and protective clothing over head, face, hands, feet, and body.
  • Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, headwear, contact lenses, nail polish, artificial nails, and any other loose or torn articles of clothing.
  • Work around moving equipment and machinery in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • May work or be assigned to a different shift.
  • Must have flexibility to work overtime (up to 10-hour days, availability after hours, on weekends and holidays) as needed.
Requirements:

Minimum Experience & Education required:

  • High school diploma or GED required OR related work experience
  • Prior manufacturing experience in a GMP environment preferred (food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, etc.)
  • 0 – 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to take direction from leaders
  • Follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English proficiently.
  • Understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for process rooms and manufacturing area.
  • Ensure GMP compliance in a regulated work environment.
  • Follow Manufacturing processes and equipment procedures.
