The Pantry Assistant is responsible for cleaning and janitorial duties in areas dedicated to the production and consumption of food and beverage, including the kitchen, dining room, bistro, private dining room, serveries/pantries, and any other identified locations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to dish and pot washing, cleaning of general areas and kitchen equipment, and storage and rotation of food and supplies while adhering to all food safety and sanitation requirements and maintaining a safe and orderly kitchen.
**RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS**
**Essential Duties**

+ Receive and inspect all incoming food and beverage deliveries against purchase orders and invoices, verifying accuracy of quantity, quality, and condition of items.
+ Ensure perishable items are promptly and correctly stored in designated refrigeration or freezer units to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage,according to Manifestly Checklists ( .
+ Organize and store food and beverage items in designated areas (walk-in coolers, dry storage, etc.), practicing the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method for stock rotation.
+ Label and date all incoming products to facilitate inventory management and stock rotation.
+ Maintain accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels and reporting discrepancies or low stock to the purchasing department or management.
+ Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of all receiving and storage areas, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards.
+ Operate and maintain essential receiving equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
+ Assist with other back-of-house duties and support other kitchen staff as needed.
+ Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures, particularly those related to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety.
+ Comply with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety and Risk Management programs and policies, adhere to safety rules and regulations, and practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
+ Responsible for performing other Dining Services duties when assigned by community leadership.

**Scope of Work:**
+ Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the kitchen, food service area and dining room, including but not limited to any onsite equipment, food storage areas and all refrigerators
+ Clean, disinfect and mop dining room area after each service provided
+ Wash and rinse dishes, pots, pans and utensils in dishwashe
+ Drain and clean dishwasher after each use
+ Maintain kitchen in sanitary condition, including floors and walls
+ Follow safe, sanitary food handling practices
+ Prepare, serve and reheat food for clients
+ Portion meals, salads, desserts, beverages, and snacks and distribute to appropriate areas
+ Dispose of trash in garbage cans multiple times per day
+ Clean and disinfect trash and garbage cans as needed
+ Take and record inventory of food items weekly
+ Report need for equipment repairs to appropriate staff at the ATC
+ Assist in receiving deliveries; must be able to lift 50 pounds of canned goods and other food products that are received at loading dock and store them inappropriate areas
+ Monitor and conduct audits to assess proper food service operation (e.g. safe food handling storage, dish washer machine temps, etc.)
+ Perform other related duties as assigned
