Responsibilities:
+ Keep the park areas clean and free of debris.
+ Empty trash bins and dispose of waste and recycle properly.
+ Maintain restrooms and public facilities.
+ Sweep walkways and keep outdoor dining areas tidy.
+ Provide excellent customer service to guests.
Qualifications:
+ Strong attention to detail and work ethic
+ Willingness to perform manual labor and work with cleaning supplies (training provided)

Job Description
Oversees, and assists as needed, the daily operations of the Park Services department in performance of the cleaning, care, upkeep, and beautification of buildings, grounds and facilities. Supervises the Park Services crew in the performance of these duties to ensure a safe, clean and secure environment for staff and guests. Ensures that Custodial staff follow all "green" and sustainable practices in support of ZNE's mission and strategic goals. Administers payroll, manages scheduling of staff, orders supplies and materials, and tracks inventory. Responsible for the set-up, break-down, and cleanliness of special events. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for enforcing ZNE policies, procedures, and protocols. Responsible for hiring and issuing corrective action as needed as well as administering annual performance evaluations for Park Services staff. Ensures that staff are trained in emergency procedures and protocols. Supervises and assists with snow removal as needed. Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive and friendly work environment for all employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Schedules, assigns and supervises the crew in the cleaning and re-stocking of restroom facilities, the cleaning of zoo buildings, grounds and exhibits throughout the park.
- Schedules, assigns, supervises and assists as needed, the crew in routine tours throughout the park collecting trash.
- Implements, supports, and enforces "green" and sustainable practices within the department.
- Schedules, assigns, and supervises the crew for set-up and break- down of facilities for Special Events.
- Maintain and update SDS information as needed.
- Will require working in all types of weather and will require snow removal duties.
- May require ability to supervise and perform minor maintenance duties such as painting and minor repairs.
- Frequent need to bend, stoop, reach and lift
- Frequent need to lift or move moderate to heavy objects
- Work on uneven terrain with exposure to varying weather conditions
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in custodial service or similar manual labor.
- Must have the ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be available for 24 hour on-call, as required.
- Must be able to work at either zoo site as required.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Perform all other duties, such as snow removal, as required.
