The Shuttle Bus Operator is vital to the logistics and overall success of the UPMC health plan. In this role, you'd benefit from weekday schedules with a new and improved shift differential program that allows you to earn extra money! Our drivers work full-time, year-round, with multiple shift types available. We offer modern, environmentally-friendly vehicles and we place a high priority on the safety of our drivers and passengers.

( a Shuttle Bus Operator, you will operate a shuttle bus or a van on assigned routes, maintain documentation on ridership, conduct safety checks, and clean the vehicle. This person must be committed to establishing relationships with other UPMC employees to make their experience enjoyable. Shuttle Bus Operators must be punctual, customer-focused, and charismatic.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain ridership information and report per company processes. Maintain route standards and only stray from the designated routes with permission of management or law enforcement.
+ Participates actively in maintaining cleanliness standards in buses and UPMC facilities.
+ Fuel the vehicle according to company policy.
+ Understands and monitors D.O.T. compliance. Remain compliant with all regulations and guidelines established by the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA), Driver License, Medical Card, Motor Vehicle Resource (MVR).
+ Develop and foster a strong working relationship with all riders and co-workers. Provide the highest level of customer service to all passengers. Demonstrate safe working and driving actions.
+ Complies with all UPMC Employee Transit policies and procedures.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ High school graduate/GED, or 1-year previous driving experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED, or successful completion of the UPMC Shuttle Bus Operator Trainee Program

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with
Westminster Services and its communities.
1. Inspect company vehicles for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips.
Complete the vehicle “Log" after each trip or at the end of the scheduled outing.
2. Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in
difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, etc. Must be able to operate the company vehicle in all types of weather and conditions. This includes going forward and backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around very tight areas.
3. Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company vehicles.
4. Operate the controls of the Handicap Lift – assist residents when utilizing the lift. Secure wheelchairs utilizing the “Shure-lock" wheelchair tie down system on the bus.
5. Assist residents on and off the vehicles and during scheduled outings.
6. Safely operate company vehicle and follow traffic laws/regulations/local ordinances/FDOT regulations when operating the company vehicle.
7. Assist with the preventive maintenance of the company vehicles.

This is a wonderful opportunity to attend in-house training to learn the skills needed to take the State Department of Transportation Commercial Driver's License (CDL) exam. Job Description
Position Type: Part-Time, 15-35 hours
Pay: $19-$21.00 ( Wage Varies Based on Shuttle Service)
Shifts:
Monday-Friday 6:30 am-2pm or Monday-Thursday 1:45pm-6:00pm
Qualifications
- Posses a Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement required.
- Drivers have a good driving record.
- Drivers must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of three years continued, valid licensed driving status
- Prior experience as car service/chauffeur/shuttle driver/bus driver preferred
- Drivers must successfully pass a company sponsored pre-employment drug test and background check. They must also meet Department of Transportation requirements.
