**Summary**
**CHS** has an exciting opportunity at our Oil Refinery facility in McPherson, Kansas. We are looking for a **Process S** **afety Engineering Intern** to provide technical support assistance on matters relating to process safety management within our refinery setting, and will be responsible for assisting with the monitoring of company safety programs, policies, and compliance with federal, state and local safety codes and regulations. This opportunity provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of fire and life safety systems on building projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include the research, design, concept development, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimal integration of automatic sprinkler, fire alarm, mass notification systems, smoke control, egress analysis, and building and fire code analysis review and compliance. Your Impact

Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**

Required Qualifications

**Basic Qualifications:**
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
ESH experience in a manufacturing/industrial/military setting.
- Experience implementing, USDOD, USDOT, NFPA, ASTM, ANSI, OSHA, safety and health standards, EPA, state and local environmental regulations and programs;
- Experience with ergonomic principles to improve cultural awareness of the risks associated with improper workstation design and enhance the understanding of proactive measures.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

**Desired Skills:**
