POSITION OVERVIEW
As part of our pastry production line, you’ll focus on shaping traditional Danish viennoiserie such as croissants, cinnamon swirls, and our other signature pastries. This is a hands-on, high-volume role working early morning shifts to products for our NYC stores.
You’ll be part of an energetic and skilled team where quality, consistency, and craft matter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Scale and mix dough ingredients with precision using commercial mixers.
Visually inspect ingredients and doughs for freshness and quality.
Portion, shape, and store doughs to spec, using FIFO and food safety protocols.
Communicate ingredient usage and inventory needs to supervisors.
Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and follow all health department standards.
Collaborate with fellow bakers and laminators to meet daily production goals.
Follow all safety, sanitation, and workplace policies.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of a Culinary School program or apprenticeship preferred
- 1 years of professional experience in a bakery. Experience with Danish or Scandinavian baking methods is a huge plus!
- Experience with mixing, bench work, proofing, and baking pastries is a plus
- Ability to work weekends, and some holidays
- Able to lift 50+lbs without restrictions
- The ability to stand and/or bend for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions
- Basic math skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Thoroughly follow company procedures according to health and safety standards
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures
