5S PICU is an 8-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.  The unit manages the care of those patients under 25 who require intensive care.  The diagnoses seen are multiple traumas, shock, DKA, respiratory failure, drug overdose and multiple organ failure.  This unit also does all deep sedation for pediatric procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, LP, bone marrow biopsy, PICC lines, thoracentesis, etc.

Scope of w ork

Coordinates aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit. In addition to communication and clerical tasks, she/he monitors and stocks supplies. Provides patient care and related functions as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.  

Qualifications

Required

  • High sc h ool graduate or equivalent

  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire

Preferred

  • Nursing Assistant certification

  • Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.

About UC Blue Ash

The Nursing Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Pediatrics Nursing Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. Job Overview

Part-time faculty must be able to teach pediatrics in college lab, simulation, and clinical courses.

Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students and reply to student communications in a timely manner; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.

All classes may be offered day or evening. This position is not eligible for visa or green card sponsorship.

Essential Functions
    On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses. Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework. Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities. Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications. Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education

A BSN or higher from an approved registered nursing education program.

Required Trainings/Certifications

Current valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.

Required Experience

Have at least two (2) years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.

Our client is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional care to pediatric patients in Virginia Beach, Virginia, US . This role is essential in supporting the medical team and ensuring the well-being of young patients during their stay. You will work closely with registered nurses and physicians to deliver direct patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and provide emotional support to both patients and their families. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children, a strong understanding of pediatric healthcare needs, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and comforting environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, documenting observations accurately.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and calls for assistance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
  • Assist nurses with medical treatments and procedures as directed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Document patient care activities and observations in the electronic health record.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  • Report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff immediately.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Virginia.
  • Previous experience as a CNA, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to help others.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Physical stamina to perform job duties, including lifting and moving patients.
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology and procedures.
  • Reliable and punctual.
