Job Overview
The Speech Therapist will evaluate and treat patients by formulating individualized treatment plans and using a variety of therapeutic techniques to help patients meet therapeutic goals. The incumbent should maintain appropriate and timely documentation for each medical record, update patients on progress, and participate in team meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the development and rehabilitation of patients by planning and administering individualized treatment plans.
- Creates goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges.
- Evaluates results of Speech therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress and recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
- Maintains records of patient progress and reports to appropriate internal team member(s).
- Prepares equipment and treatment room(s) ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed.
- Serves as an advocate for patients and collaborates with external organizations to provide appropriate support and necessary accommodations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations and certification requirements.
- Participates in continuing education opportunities including attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing professional networks.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

You’ll achieve success by:
- Assessing patients' strengths and weaknesses.
- Devising creative treatment plans for infants, children, and adolescents suffering from injuries or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases.
- Improve children's motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait difficulties, heart and lung endurance, and delayed motor movements.
- Helping children and family members restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
- Encouraging patients along the road to recovery.
Qualifications:
- Physical Therapist Licensure in good standing in Georgia
- CPR and first aid certification required
