Penguin Random House seeks a Database Administrator to join our guild of IT database professionals, supporting multiple aspects of publishing operations, content management, and other custom systems. The Database Administrator will be responsible for supporting existing application databases and working to transition systems to a cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring security and license compliance, using CI/CD standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundational background in database management, performance, and security supporting ongoing efforts towards cloud migration. Experienced with Database Management Systems (DBMS) like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Job Summary:
The Content Creation Manager is responsible for producing visually compelling designs and crafting engaging, brand-aligned copy to support marketing efforts across digital and print channels. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for design, a way with words, and a passion for storytelling that drives engagement and action.
General Responsibilities:
Graphic Design
- Design a variety of marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, digital ads, email templates, social media graphics, infographics, and presentations.
- Ensure all visual content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains consistency across platforms and campaigns.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to conceptualize and execute visuals for promotions, campaigns, and product launches.
- Prepare final artwork for both print and digital production, ensuring proper formatting, resolution, and quality assurance.
Copywriting
- Write compelling, clear, and engaging copy for a variety of channels including social media, email campaigns, landing pages, websites, newsletters, advertisements, and press releases.
- Develop messaging for new products and services that resonates with target audiences and supports business objectives.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency with brand voice and tone.
- Partner closely with design and marketing teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across all customer touchpoints.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required 2+ years of experience in graphic design and/or marketing copywriting roles.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Familiarity with Canva, Figma, or similar collaborative design tools.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo) and CMS tools (e.g., WordPress).
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices and content marketing strategies.
- Experience with UI/UX tools like Sketch or Figma a plus
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Understanding of data-driven marketing or performance metrics.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to problem-solving and use critical thinking
- Ability to handle conflict in a professional and courteous manner
- Work with peers and all departments for the common goals of the organization
- Must be flexible and adapt to most any situation
- Ability to utilize technology devices, software and application, previous experience with Microsoft Office Suites and basic computer skills required
- Reliable high speed home broadband internet connection with minimum 25 meg download and 10 meg upload speeds and ability to connect to home internet via ethernet cord is required if working remotely
- Ability to travel up to 25%

Job Description
The Social Media/Content Creation intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing and other various members of the organization and be involved in the week-to-week social content planning and short content video elements for the Chicago Union. They will gain valuable insight into various aspects of a professional sports organization. This individual will support the team in telling the story of our brand through top quality content and creative videography all our social media platforms.
The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a consistent structure, can-do attitude, and top-notch creative execution. Moreover, this individual must take initiative independently and manage ambiguity while embodying the vision, mission, and core values of the Chicago Union ultimate team.
Responsibilities
Developing effective content, promotion, engagement, and conversion strategies.
- Create engaging digital content such as videos and other forms of multimedia.
- Shoot and edit high-quality videos for various projects, including games, training sessions, and other Chicago Union events.
- Conceptualize video features for the Chicago Union digital channels.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure that the content aligns with the overall goals of the brand.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in digital content creation.
- Archive and organize all footage and material.
- Create and curate a unique and engaging "story" that compels people to interact with the brand, and ultimately purchase merchandise or attend events hosted by the Union.
- Must live in or able to reliably commute to Evanston/Chicago for team activities and individual player content capture.
- Other duties as assigned to support the Creative Department.
- Planning, generating, and publishing relevant, original content daily
- Creating editorial calendar and posting schedule - including short term posts like Instagram Stories and Snapchat
- Participating in live videos
- Overseeing design of digital assets to ensure that they are consistent with brand positioning and company values
- Controlling community management - monitoring, reposting, responding to online comments and reviews, etc.
- Building, testing, and optimizing paid social media campaigns
- Developing sponsorship procurement videos and other materials
- Attending and representing the Union brand at team and trade events (as needed)
- Participating in weekly marketing meetings
- Experience creating sports social content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, BlueSky, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Ability to create fun content with the players
- Experience creating a wide variety of content for social media and beyond
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and have a sense of accountability
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Must reside in the Chicagoland area and be able to attend all Union home games and weekly practices.
- Ability to commit to March - August
