Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to support clients with their daily living activities and promote independence, dignity, and well being. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support mobility needs, including transferring, positioning, and ambulation.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals based on dietary requirements.
  • Provide medication reminders and basic health monitoring (as allowed by law).
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing living spaces.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation.
  • Escort clients to medical appointments, errands, or social outings, as needed.
  • Observe and report changes in the client’s condition to supervisors or family members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of empathy, patience, and compassion
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Physical ability to perform care tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Discretion and respect for client confidentiality and privacy
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certification as a Personal Care Assistant, Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred (may be required depending on state regulations)
  • Previous experience in a caregiving, healthcare, or home care role is strongly preferred
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
  • Must pass a background check and any required health screenings

· Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.
· Must be action-oriented, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality and flexibility to adapt to ongoing change.

Responsibilities:
+ Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
+ Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client's health
+ Assists with transfers and ambulation
+ Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan
+ Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client
+ Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
+ Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan
+ Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Requirements:
+ State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program
+ One (1) year relevant experience preferred
+ Current BLS Card
+ Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
+ Knowledge of child growth and development
+ Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the home, school, local health agency, and other community resources
+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
+ Computer proficiency required
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

We are looking for NYS certified PCA/ HHA's to support our clients in their everyday lives. If you're a compassionate, positive person who isn't afraid to work hard, then this is a job for you. Experienced in housekeeping tasks and caring for the elderly or sick will make you a strong candidate. This client is a part of our Waiver program and is in need of an experienced aide.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure clients receive their medication on time
  • Support clients who can't move on their own
  • Help clients dress, bathe, eat etc.
  • Assist clients with physical therapy exercises
  • Cook meals according to the customer's restrictions
  • Help customers with their shopping
  • Do necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
  • Provide emotional support
  • Inform physicians or supervisors about uncommon events
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • PCA/ HHA certification
  • Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
  • Ability to carry out verbal and written directions.
  • Caregiving/ Direct Patient Care: 1 year (Preferred)
