Your Role: Sales Trainee – US Pet Health
Embark on an exciting career in animal health with Elanco! As a Sales Trainee for the US Pet Health team, you’ll receive comprehensive training and mentorship while gaining hands-on experience engaging with Elanco veterinary customers and prospects. You will be a flex worker, based out of the Indianapolis headquarters and be part of a supportive team and contribute to the success of Elanco's innovative pet health. This 2-year fixed duration entry-level role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop your sales & technical skills to be proficient in the competencies needed for full-time employment with Elanco. You'll embark on a comprehensive rotational journey across key areas of our business, gaining invaluable experience in areas such as inside & outside sales, strategic partnerships, retail operations and even helping with leave covers to gain real life day to day experience in different roles in the Pet Health business.
Your Responsibilities:
Onboarding:
Product Training: Learn the scientific molecules, mode of action, and product labels of the Elanco products and how to effectively position them with customers. This extensive training is a blend of virtual and in person at Elanco headquarters in monthly sessions for the first ~4 – 6 months.
Company Training: You'll embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in your role. This includes in-depth training on Elanco's processes and systems, including sales tools, reporting platforms, and internal communication channels. You'll also receive thorough instruction on our company's code of conduct, policies, and ethical guidelines, ensuring you're aligned with our values and operating procedures. We believe in ongoing learning and development, so you'll have access to continuous training opportunities and resources to enhance your skills and stay abreast of industry advancements throughout your career at Elanco.
Hands on Experience (Mentored): Begin by shadowing experienced sales representatives during customer visits, observing their interactions, sales techniques, territory management tactics and relationship-building strategies. This initial shadowing phase will provide a foundational understanding of customer interactions and engagement in each area that you rotate to.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma/GED with demonstrated interest in animal health or sales. Relevant coursework or extracurricular activities a plus.
Experience: Prior experience in customer service or a related field is a plus. Internship experience in a sales or animal-related field is highly desirable.
Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic. Eagerness to learn and a passion for animal health are essential.
Must have a Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

As a Pet Health Sales Intern, you will be able to jump into the Pet Health Veterinary Sales organization and call on your own assigned accounts. You’ll have key goals (as outlined in your project) and will conduct business as if you’re a full-time Pet Health Veterinary Sales Representative.

Your Role: Field Sales Trainer
The USPH Field Sales Trainer (FST) will report to the USPH Selling Effectiveness & Leadership Advisor and play a pivotal role in enhancing the selling capabilities of our sales representatives. Working closely with District Managers, the FST will strive to ensure field execution excellence and raise performance standards across the region.

Your Role: Pet Health District Sales Manager - Southern New England
As a District Sales Manager, you will coach and lead a district of approximately 10 territories in the US Pet Health Veterinary Sales Organization. As the Pet Health organization embarks on a historic launch period, your leadership will be critical to the success of Elanco.

Recruiting, interviewing, and selecting a team of representatives to represent Elanco’s companion animal products and direct the effort of our channel partners.
Responsible for achieving a specified District sales objective across all product categories.
Responsible for developing and executing business plans with the corporate veterinary account headquarters within the district’s defined geography.
Development of a business plan for utilization of all the provided resources to accomplish the planned objectives of the District.
Executing business plans of the channel partners with the coordination of the Sales Manager and the Sr. Executive Representative responsible for each channel partner.

Your Role: US Pet Health Veterinary Sales Representative
As a Veterinary Sales Representative on the US Pet Health team, you’ll engage with veterinary customers to achieve a sales goal with Elanco products within an assigned geography. Pet Health Veterinary Field Representatives will play an important role in our success as we embark on a historic launch period for Elanco Animal Health and the Pet Health Organization.
Your Responsibilities:
Provides a key leadership role for distributor representatives within their assigned geography.
Responsible for product placement with targeted accounts in assigned geographical areas.
Responsible for executing sales objectives and strategies with corporate hospitals.
Responsible for completing a territory business plan with key essential wins identified as part of the plan. Executing the plan as the year progresses will be expected.
Territory representative will complete all set objectives and achieve sales goals while operating within an assigned expense budget.
Key liaison with local veterinary associations coordinating efforts surrounding the state VMA meetings.
Responsible for spending a defined amount of time in the field executing face-to-face meetings with hospital influencers.
Representatives will be responsible for setting up and executing launch meetings in conjunction with veterinary services in support of each product launch.
