Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive geological studies and evaluations of basins and prospects to identify new hydrocarbon exploration opportunities.
- Interpret seismic, well log, core, and other geological data to build detailed subsurface models and maps.
- Assess hydrocarbon potential, reservoir characteristics, and geological risks associated with exploration targets.
- Collaborate closely with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams to integrate geological interpretations into drilling programs.
- Prepare detailed geological reports, presentations, and technical recommendations for management and project stakeholders.
- Utilize advanced geological software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, DecisionSpace) for data integration and modeling.
- Participate in well planning, operations, and post-drilling evaluations.
- Stay current with new geological concepts, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to regional studies and play-based exploration initiatives.
- Ensure all exploration activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Petroleum Geology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in oil and gas exploration, preferably with exposure to various basin types.
- Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
- Strong understanding of petroleum systems, structural geology, sedimentology, and stratigraphy.
- Demonstrated experience in seismic interpretation and well log analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and uncertainty analysis in exploration.
- Willingness to travel to field sites as required.
