JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides general administrative support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The Pharmacy Support Specialist is responsible for answering incoming phone calls, directing calls to the appropriate associate, handling the flow of correspondence, processing, maintaining, and storing patient health information as well as additional clerical duties. This position ensures the efficient day-to-day operations of the office.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required and a minimum of 6 months to one year of administrative assistant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Completion of both pharmacy technician training and national certification to be completed within 6 months of employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; Respects patient's rights to privacy and confidentiality.
• Answers telephones, prescreens, and directs the caller to the appropriate associate. Will transfer a caller to an associate's voice mailbox when the associate is unavailable.
• Responds to patient inquiries as appropriate.
• Processes, maintains, stores, and retrieves patient health information in accordance with applicable Federal, State and accrediting agencies' requirements.
• Collects and retrieves patient medical files.
• Ensures healthcare workers and employees can easily access relevant information for a specific patient's chart or file when needed.
• Tracks and manages all documents that require patient's and/or physician's signature.
• Process new patient admission paperwork.
• Takes and retrieves messages for various personnel.
• Scans, renames, and confirms Delivery Tickets for patient records.
• Assists with daily UPS shipment by confirming correct addresses and box count before UPS departs.
• Organizes, files, and stores compounding records for future reference.
• Receives compounding records and makes sure they are signed by a pharmacist.
• Scans and renames compounding records for patient records.
• Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office and break room supplies.
• Checks e-mails and faxes throughout the day for documents that need direction or attention.
• Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other related information.
• Assists staff with administrative support when requested.
• Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member.
• Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Provides cross coverage for the Office Administrator during lunch break, scheduled PTO and as needed.

Join our dynamic team at LSPedia as a Pharmacy Support Technician, where you will be the first point of contact for our OneScan Pharmacy customers, addressing their technical issues and concerns. OneScan Pharmacy is our SAAS solution for pharmacy dispensers with smaller footprints. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, troubleshooting problems, and escalating issues when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires prior Pharmacy Technician experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a dedication and solution focused mindset to helping our Pharmacy Pro customers succeed with our software solutions. This exciting opportunity allows you to work hands-on with our SaaS solutions and make a tangible impact on our customers.

Responsibilities: 

  • Guide pharmacy customers through the technology onboarding journey to implement technology quickly and utilize technology for daily operations.
  • Provide first level support to Pharmacy Pro customers via phone, email, and chat, ensuring timely resolution of issues and a high level of customer satisfaction. 
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose software, scanners, and network issues related to our SaaS solutions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. 
  • Document customer interactions, incidents, and resolutions in our ticketing system, maintaining detailed and accurate records. 
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to higher level support teams or other relevant departments, as necessary. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to share pharmacy customer feedback and insights, contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and services. 

  Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience with a strong capabilities in software/ technology operations
  • 1- 2+ years of experience in technical support, customer service, or a similar role. 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively. 
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, networking, and basic software troubleshooting techniques. 
  • Familiarity with SaaS solutions, cloud based technologies, and common IT tools. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
  • Experience in the supply chain, logistics, or compliance industry. 
  • Proficiency in multiple languages. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer centric approach and the ability to empathize with users.
