**Responsibilities:**
+ Prepare routine solutions and reagents.
+ Perform reliability testing.
+ Prepare internal standard, calibration and quality control solutions.
+ Operate laboratory instrumentation for the collection of data in support of performance verification, method validation, and reference material verification.
+ Perform qualitative and quantitative method validations.
+ Conduct inventory of reference materials, stockpiles, chemical and stock solutions and laboratory equipment.
+ Conduct instrument performance checks and maintenance.
+ Verify reference materials.
+ Conduct stockroom supply inventory.
+ Restock the supply room.
+ Submit supply order requests.
+ Clean and level balances
+ Conduct balance calibration checks.
+ Daily cleaning and distribution of laboratory glassware

HII: Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Physical Science Technician who will support our Petroleum Lab at Gound Vehicle System Center at Detriot Arsenal in Warren, MI. HII's Mission Technologies Division, has over 100 facilities worldwide and provides capabilities to support an all-domain force that includes artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, critical nuclear operations, LVC systems, cyberspace strategies, and platform modernization.
This position requires onsite work at The United States Army Ground Vehicle System Center GVSC located in Warren, MI.

What you will do
+ Perform laboratory analysis on a wide range of petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) products, such as aviation fuels, diesel fuels, gasolines, lubricants, greases, coolants, hydraulic fluids, and solid film lubricants.
+ Execute standardized testing protocols in strict accordance with ASTM International, SAE International, Federal Test Methods, and other relevant methodologies tailored to specific product and project requirements.
+ Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management Standards, completing all testing activities with precision, traceability, and adherence to Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Achieve and maintain technical proficiency by completing required training and attaining "Trained" or "Expert" status on applicable test methods and instrumentation.
+ Support end-to-end laboratory operations, including sample intake and logging, work order creation, report generation, consumable inventory, safety data sheet (SDS) updates, and waste management in alignment with environmental and safety regulations.
+ Complete all mandatory training related to but not limited to laboratory operations, including testing procedures, safety protocols, quality assurance, and environmental compliance.
+ Participate in laboratory audits to include safety, quality, and environmental, upon request.
+ Conduct routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
+ Promote a culture of safety and compliance by rigorously following protocols for the handling, storage, and labeling of chemicals and materials in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
What we are looking for
+ Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related (DoD/USN) experience.
+ High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental science, or related field preferred.
+ Preferred: Demonstrate a minimum of 6 months of hands-on laboratory experience conducting scientific testing and analysis, including sample preparation, data collection, and interpretation using standardized methodologies.
+ Ability to lift items up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and reaching.
+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Stanford University is seeking a Physical Science Research Professional 1 to apply knowledge and understanding of a scientific discipline or related technology in laboratories engaged in research in the physical sciences. Typically apply specific scientific or technical knowledge to research projects, guided by broad policies and professional knowledge.
The Wang Lab (med.stanford.edu/wanggroup.html) is in the Radiological Sciences Laboratory (rsl.stanford.edu) in the Department of Radiology. The lab's interests revolve around the following areas:
+ Applications of artificial intelligence / machine learning / deep learning to x-ray/CT imaging.
+ Photon counting CT and spectral / dual energy imaging.
+ Novel systems and methods for x-ray and CT imaging.
The successful applicant will work in close collaboration within a team of researchers from Stanford Radiology and other departments.
**Duties include*:**
+ Design, recommend and implement modifications to procedures and protocols in support of research projects.
+ Partner with faculty in support of students to teach/demonstrate processes of experiments and the safe operation of equipment.
+ Manage lab safety to protect personnel and environment. Develop the setup and operational procedures of lab equipment, using knowledge of chemicals and other hazards to minimize the likelihood of chemical exposure and/or other hazards. Liaison with EH&S to request services and support for lab operations.
+ Analyze and interpret research data to recognize irregularities and invalid results. Develop statistical models allowing for integration and display of data. Make recommendations based on results.
+ Assist in preparation of papers for publication and scientific and program reporting by providing data in support of research.
+ Perform technical procedures, such as running and calibrating of equipment, to gather data and optimize outcome of results in support of a research project.
+ Modify research protocols and procedures based on new learnings from literature review and attendance at scientific conferences.
+ Train personnel to ensure safe operation of lab.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Experience working with medical images, particularly x-ray and CT.
+ Experience with AI models and tools, such as PyTorch.
