Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Piping Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team based in Lake Mary, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and managing piping systems for gas turbine power projects. You will ensure compliance with industry codes, project contracts, and schedules while collaborating with vendors, internal teams, and the parent company to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design piping systems and create specifications to generate Bills of Materials (BOM).

Required Qualifications:

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y‑12 National Security Complex located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Pantex Plant located in Amarillo, Texas.
Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance Y-12's core mission to ensure a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent, which is essential to national security. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from Y-12 staff employed directly by the security complex. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

**Responsibilities**
+ Provide CNS Mission Engineering with full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.
+ Provide design output documentation to support major facility modifications and Project Engineering. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in ASME B31.3 Process Piping Design.
+ Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
+ Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable. Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
+ Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.
**Qualifications**
+ Requires an ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
+ DOE Q clearance is preferred.
+ Pre-employment Drug Screen - external applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post- offer, pre-employment drug test.
+ Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
+ This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. + Ability to follow established Amentum's quality procedures and ensures that all work accomplished under their control is accomplished under established quality procedures.
+ Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1
+ Design experience with AMSE B31.1 and B31.3 and ASME B&PV Code.

Essential Functions:
