Kimley-Horn's Sherman, TX office is seeking an Environmental or Civil Engineer with 4+ years of relevant experience to join their Water/Wastewater and Utilities team! This is not a remote position.

+ Designing either water treatment or water reclamation facilities - Reverse osmosis, Nanofiltration, UV disinfection, Lime Softening, MBR, SBR, CAS, etc.

**Qualifications**
+ 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience
+ Professional Engineering (P.E.) License
+ Relevant municipal engineering experience including designing treatment and conveyance systems.
+ Preferred experience with Revit
+ Experience performing hydraulic modeling preferred (using programs such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, etc.)
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
+ Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the most ideal and efficient approach to solving engineering tasks at hand. Work collaboratively with other disciplines to recommend changes or upgrades to improve functionality or efficiency.
+ Produce detail design and sizing calculations and drawings for the project, utilizing neat preparation and organization of calculations. Perform hydraulics and head calculations applying experience with pump types and limitations. Apply knowledge of process instrumentation and controls equipment and philosophies, including different instrument applications within the same type to solutions. Utilize fluid service directory to identify pipe, valve, and inline components.
+ Produce project designs that are optimal and efficient with an overall emphasis on inherently safe design, ease of construction, operability and maintenance. The completed design shall meet the requirements and expectation of the Site.
+ Produce equipment and construction specifications.
+ Monitor drawings in progress to ensure conformance to design calculations and specifications. Assist in resolving routine layout and detailing problems. Ensure that sufficient information and details are provided for completion of engineering drawings.
+ Review and check vendor information and other discipline information needs for process engineering input. Review fabrication drawings and other vendor submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. Visit vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements/ specifications.
+ Perform fieldwork necessary to gather process information, check tie-ins and provide construction support.
+ Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
**Required Qualifications**
+ 10+ years of progressive experience in the field of chemical engineering including experience with PSM covered facilities and governing regulations, process design, and project engineering.
+ Bachelor's degree in chemical, polymer/ materials or petroleum engineering from an ABET accredited university or college.
+ Working knowledge in the use of process simulation software.

+ Experience in polymer and ceramics manufacturing processes.
+ Professional Engineering license in the State of Alabama.
